(We haven't done her 4-year-old picture, but this was taken just a month ago, and I thought it was cute!)Where did the time go?
I can't believe my little girl is turning 4 today. I feel like it was just yesterday that we were lugging her up the stairs to our third floor apartment in the cold in Provo, Utah from the American Fork Hospital. Janelle was my Christmas baby and she really made me appreciate what Mary must have felt like when she held the baby Jesus in her arms. What an amazing feeling to hold your very own precious baby in your arms, but for Mary, to know that he was the Son of God...it's hard to fathom the greatness of such an amazing birth. But I like to think I caught a teeny tiny glimpse of what the new mother Mary might have felt like. It really was an amazing experience having an infant during such a magical yet holy time of the year.
Janelle has grown into such a loving, sensitive, and energetic little girl. She has proven to be an amazing big sister to Spencer. She never seems to get enough of him! She's always giving him hugs and kisses, and making him smile, and helping him feel better when he cries. I had no idea she would transition so easily from "only child" to "big sister."
While she's growing and learning so quickly, she still needs her quiet snuggly moments with mommy and daddy. She loves to snuggle on the couch with daddy in the mornings while he catches the news. She also likes to curl up on my lap (which is definately getting harder with her being so tall!) and read stories or have me sing her a song in the rocking chair. She's very generous with her hugs and kisses and is adamant about goodbye hugs and returning home hugs.
I'm so grateful for such a beautiful and sweet daughter! Happy 4th birthday to our little sweetheart! We love you Janelley Belly!

Happy Birthday Janelle! I agree, having an infant at Christmas does add alot to the season. Anthony and I swore we'd never have a December baby since it is also the same month as his birthday, Christmas and our anniversary! But I am glad I had that experience. I hope the birthday celebrations are tons of fun, we're getting geared up for some this weekend too!
Happy Birthday Janelle, next time you see Josh and Ben, they will both give you a great big birthday kiss! (Because they always fight over who is your better best friend!) Hope it's special!
Happy Birthday Janelle! I also loved having a December baby. It's a wonderful time of year! It's hard to believe Janelle is already 4! I remember babysitting her when she was just tiny, and it doesn't seem like that long ago.
Thanks for the amazing reflections on her birth, it was really touching. I hope it was fun, despite the HUGE amount of cake.
