Stocking Tradition

My great-grandmother started making these felt stockings for her children a long time ago. Little did she know the tradition she would start! Since then, my grandmother has made them for all of her children, children's spouses, and grandchildren. So when I was born, my grandmother made one for me. Now being married with two kids, my grandmother has passed the torch onto my mom who has made them for Kyle, Janelle, and Spencer. She just barely finished Spencer's today, and I was so excited to put it up with our other stockings! Didn't she do a fabulous job??? One cool thing about Spencer's stocking is that Kyle's mom sent us this little wooden airplane ornament that they had on their tree for years and years. Kyle remembers it being on their Christmas tree since he was little. So his mom let us have it for Spencer's stocking, and my mom sewed it on. It was the perfect addition, with a little sentimental value to it! I can't say I'm very excited for when it will be my turn to start making the stockings because they are very detailed and take a lot of time, but fortunately I have awhile before that happens! Thanks mom!!!! (And Grandma, who helped a lot with them!)
