February Happenings

Here are some random pictures from last month and last Sunday (yesterday)...

After church yesterday I told Janelle to go put some play clothes on. I guess she took me literally - and got some dress-up clothes! Despite the freezing cold weather we had yesterday, Janelle was ready for the beach in her little Hawaiian dress and new flip flops.

This is the top of my head...Janelle got up WAY too early Sunday morning - we don't have church until 12:30pm so it's the one day a week we can actually sleep in. Aargh!

Auntie Emily spent the night with us this last weekend and Spencer was more than happy to get some attention when he woke up. He thinks Emily is hilarious and always has big smiles for her when he sees her.

Last week we had GORGEOUS weather. Both Janelle and Mark lived outside on the trampoline - I even let them have a picnic for a couple days. (Less mess for me to clean up!!)

Spencer is 8 months this week. I can't believe how fast those 8 months have flown by! He has definitely proven to be a rambunctious little thing. Now that he is crawling he gets into EVERYTHING - cupboards, shelves, the DVD player, you name it, he'll get into it. The funny thing about him is he always seems to know exactly what he wants. If he wants to play with his toys, he crawls into the playroom and helps himself to whatever he can find, if he's hungry he crawls into the kitchen and climbs up my leg until I get him something, if he's tired, he just lays right down on the carpet and sucks his thumb. On Saturday I was trying to feed him lunch and I could tell he was getting tired. So I was trying to quickly feed him some baby food. He kept shaking his head at me and sticking his thumb in his mouth refusing to eat his food, which is weird because he eats EVERYTHING. Finally I gave up and just made him a bottle of milk - he was very happy once he figured out what I was doing. He happily drank his bottle and then went right to bed! Also, the other day Spencer was playing on the floor and Kyle was in the kitchen. All the sudden Kyle heard him sneeze and then saw his little legs crawl right up to him. He pulled himself up to Kyle's leg and then looked up when Kyle realized Spencer needed his nose wiped. So he patiently let Kyle take care of it and then headed back to what he was playing with. He seemed to know exactly what to do and how to get it taken care of! His new favorite pasttime: throwing DVD's off the shelf. Janelle really liked doing that too, I'll have to find the picture of her doing it. (Notice Spencer's pants on the floor next to him - he crawled right out of them!)
