Teething Round #2:
Top Teeth
My poor miserable little boy.
The one thing that calmed him down all night long
- taking a bath.
Poor Spencer started getting his top teeth last night. Oh boy, was it a LONG night! He was SO miserable and didn't fall asleep until 4am (which means I didn't go to bed until 4am either). It started at about midnight when he woke up crying which is weird because he's pretty good about sleeping through the night now. So Kyle made him a bottle - which Spencer only drank half of (also weird). Then I realized he was extremely congested, so I thought he might have a cold. I gave him some infant tylenol cold medicine, gave him some of that saline nose spray suctioned out his nose, then turned the humidifier on full blast. He was NOT a happy camper. I tried to rock him to sleep but every time he stuck his thumb in his mouth he couldn't breathe. Finally I decided to just check his teeth and sure enough there they were just waiting to break through. I got out the baby Orajel (which Spencer also hates) and just tried to make him comfortable the whole night. I even stuck him in the bathtub for a little while - which is the only thing that made him happy. Finally at 4am he just gave up fighting it. Thank heavens he's been sleeping most of the day today! (I stayed home from church with him - it wasn't worth the hassle to me.)

You poor things. Spencer sounds miserable! I don't remember teething as being such a horrible experience, I guess it just shows that I have big boys now. Well, when you give Spencer some tylenol, don't forget to give some to yourself.
So NOT fun. Poor little guy. Ben didn't have too hard of a time with teething until his molars starting coming in...then there was drama. Looking forward to what his canines bring. Good move staying home today - what's the point with a fussy baby and a much too sleep-deprived mom? Hope those teeth break through soon and Spencer won't have to live in the bathtub for 2 weeks!
Poor Spencer! I hope you both get some rest tonight!
so sad. don't we wish they could be toothless cuties forever!!!
What a sad face and the thumb sucking is heart breaking! Glad he's doing better.
