Frazzled...

I have the worst luck with blow dryers. My blow dryer died on Saturday and I swear it was less than a year old. Shouldn't they last longer than that? And the one I had before that didn't last very long either. I'm not sure if it's just bad luck or my hair is just too thick so I keep it on extra long... But it's getting quite frustrating! I would greatly appreciate any consumer advice from all you dear bloggers (even if I don't know you!) on good blow dryers since I am now in the market for one...AGAIN.

I don't know what mine is, sorry. It's not any expensive nice one, but it works great and has lasted awhile. I am quite the opposite of you. Mine last forever. In fact, my old one didn't actually die. It doesn't work as well (but I didn't know) and I think it might have worked as good as it could but better blow dryers were made after that time. If that makes any sense. Good luck and I'm sorry. :)

Mine break about after a year too. Mine is about to start burning up soon I think too. Don't know what brand is good and won't break.

I have always had the same luck--probably because I have the same kind of hair as you: thick and wavy. I'll tell you what I did--I gave up fighting it. I chucked my blow dryer and just let my hair go wild. It may not be the cutest, but it's SOOOO much easier--I've been straightening my hair my whole life. If you're not ready to give up, my mom has a blow dryer that she swears by. I'll find out what kind it is.

Hey Laura,
I'm a hairstylist too and Becca's right Chi is really good, but quite expensive too. Another one that works great or atleast has for me for over five years on my own hair, and my people's hair :) is called Helen of Troy. I think you can get it at Sally's Beauty Supply, and maybe even Wal-Mart. If you don't go with that one make sure whatever blow dryer you buy is atleast a 1600 watt. Better heat distribution on your hair, and won't damage it as bad as one with a lesser wattage. Just thought you might like to know. :) Good Luck,
