Spencer started standing by himself last Friday. Whenever he does it he gets a HUGE smile on his face - he's very proud that he's becoming more independent! I, on the other hand, am not quite ready for it. Standing means walking is right around the corner, and he's already into enough things without the added mobility! Janelle was walking at nine months, so we'll see if Spencer gets the hang of it this month. The great thing about a second child is that I am loving taking each day one at a time. With the first one we were so excited for Janelle to start crawling and then walking and talking, etc., etc. With Spencer, I'm perfectly happy to take one day at a time and enjoy the fact that he can't walk quite yet.

Wow, almost walking already! I understand what you mean about the second child. I was always really eager for Avary's next phase, but with Sam I'm happy just waiting.
I think that Spencer was actually conceived three months earlier then you thought and you just carried him for about twelve months so that really makes him twelve months old instead of nine. What do you think? I bet that did not make any sense. Well, he beat Alex to standing. She will do it for a second but not willingly only if I catch her off guard and let go of her. Once she realizes I am not holding her she throws herself to the ground. She could stand a walk if she wanted to she is just a scaredy cat and won't do it unless she is holding our fingers. I guess Spencer will probably start walking before Alex!
He is such a cutie. I was looking into flying out with the girls to see you guys because I miss you all but it would still be about $550 with two stops. I don't know if it would be worth it. We will work something out soon, though.

He is so precious! Hannah is as smiley as Spencer is I decided. I would like to think that Hannah would be as slow as Kathryn at all these things, but she is already ahead of Kathryn is so many ways. I love how proud they get!

It's funny you mentioned Spencer being conceived earlier than thought because I definitely think that is true. Not 3 months, but a couple of weeks. I've always thought Janelle's and Spencer's due dates were off by 2 weeks. Spencer could pass as a one year old though - he's so big! He goes to the dr. tomorrow and I'm anxious to see how much he weighs. Kyle and I were looking at flights from Boise to Dallas the other night too! I can't figure out why they're so expensive right now. Let's both keep watching for deals - we'd LOVE to have you!

We have been looking into flights from Boise to Dallas and found some good deals on kayak.com to come during June. I saw that your sister-in-law was looking to come visit you guys. You should check out this website. The flight we found also only makes 1 stop in Denver, which is nice when traveling with kids.
