Things have been pretty busy ever since we got back from San Antonio, here are a few things that have been going on at our house:Kyle- Started school on Monday. He's finishing up his prerequisites for grad school which he can apply for in the fall. He's insanely busy taking a Maymester math course at the community college here (Maymester means 2 weeks of 4 hour class and then you're done!), while also finishing up on online Psychology class he's taking through BYU, he's still working, as well as planning the Young Men's high adventure for the summer. Good thing we went on a date on Saturday - I'm not sure I'll see him 'til he's done with his class next Friday!
Me- I'm still babysitting my nephew until the end of May. With Spencer getting more mobile it's been harder and harder to get out with 3 kids, so I'd been feeling a little stir crazy and like I wasn't doing anything except watching kids all day long. After a week of feeling like my life was stagnant, I decided to focus on running. I'm a TERRIBLE runner and I really wanted to change that, so I decided to try the "From Couch Potato to 5K Runner" 9 week challenge (thanks Jen!!!). Fortunately I was pretty in-shape to begin with, so it hasn't been too hard. I'm on week 5 and have been really successful so far. I also "joined" weight watchers 3 weeks ago. My incredibly nice cousin bought the books for me at her meetings so I could do it without having to officially join. A couple other friends are doing it with me, so it's fun. We share recipes and have our own weigh in meetings - mostly it's an excuse to get together and gab. :) I've already gone down a pants size, so I'm feeling pretty good about it!
Janelle- Finished her first session of swimming last week. She did WONDERFULLY in it, and I can't wait for her to start another session in June. She's also finishing her last 2 weeks of preschool this month. At the end of the month the kids are having an end-of-year party complete with a little play, certificates, and a song they learned ("My Favorite Things"). The play they are doing is "The Little Red Hen" and Janelle (being the only girl in her class) is the Little Red Hen. The kids love acting the play out, it's so cute to watch them! I can't wait to see how they do when they have an audience! She's SO close to being able to recite all the letters and the sounds they make in order to earn her bike. She always wants to practice them with me.
Spencer- Just started walking!!! My crazy 10 1/2 month-old is officially mobile. He's still pretty wobbly, but he LOVES walking around. It doesn't phase him at all if falls flat on his face, crazy kid! He is such a joy to have around. He gives me the best smiles all day long that can always seem to melt my heart - even when he's getting into something! He was supposed to have his urology appointment today, but the doctor postponed it until the first week in June because he was going out of town. I can't help hoping and wishing that his kidney would just somehow be a normal size and functioning normally, even though in the back of my head I know that's probably not the case. Whatever happens, I know he'll be fine.
So that's what we've been up to lately! Gotta run and get Spencer up from his nap!

Good for you on starting that running program. It totally got me addicted to working out. I finished the program and haven't actually run a 5k yet b/c I'm waiting for my husband, BUT I still run 2-3 times a week and have started doing 3-4 classes a week at the YMCA. I'd say I'm happy with myself EXCEPT my tummy - but that is going to take some time. Keep it up and let me know when you finish, it felt like a GREAT accomplishment for me!
Sounds like you all are busy. Good job for Kyle getting back into school. More education is always good. That is crazy that Spencer is walking so early. I bet it is too cute to see. Alex has been walking too, sure I know she is 14 months old but well you know. It is good to get the catch up...hope we can get it in person before too long.
Sounds like you are keeping very busy! Good for you for starting to run - I can't wait to have this baby and start losing weight! If life gets to crazy for you be sure to have another date night!
Hey Laura! I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry that I didn't make it to the stamp/stationary party. We were out of town. I really wanted to go too. Was it fun? Also, where is Janelle taking swimming lessons? I'd love to sign up Wilson. Thanks!
Kasia- No problem! I'll probably have another girl's night sometime this summer. I just checked your blog, your trip looked so fun! How fun you were able to make it kid-less! Janelle is taking swimming through the city, just go to their website www.mckinneytexas.org and go to cultural and recreational services, and then aquatics. You have to register with the city before you can sign up, but it only takes a day or two. The teachers do a really good job with the kids, I'm sure Wilson would love it!
Busy, busy, busy! Good thing you guys took a fun trip a couple weeks ago in preparation for this crazy month. Good luck with everything!
P.S. It was so fun to finally see you again at the scrappy notes party...thanks for the invite!
That was a great update! And congrats on the weight watchers. I have heard so so many good things about it, I think I would like to start on it myself! And way to exercise. :)
