As you can see they weren't ready to just let us go and dragged out our cancellation for almost 45 minutes:
I had already made my decision though. Now understand that I'm not a big-time disgruntled customer. I could see myself using Sprint again if we lived in an area with really good coverage and they gave me a great deal. The thing that was the decider for me was a few months back after Sprint and Nextel merged their websites. My online account locked me out and couldn't be reset, no way to pay my bill, no way to check minutes, etc. After wasting about 6 hours of my life on customer service, I sent a Certified letter to their customer service department and never got a response. Ever since then, we've been counting the days until the contract expired.

Grrr...been there, done that. We've been with Cingular (now AT&T) for a couple years now and have really like them. Our contract expires next month, but I'm sure we'll sign on with them again. I'm just looking forward to upgrading my phone! Hopefully you won't have to go through this process again any time soon!
wow! who knew that they counted down like that..so funny. welcome to the wonderful world of cingular-hey now we can talk for free!! maybe, how does that work?? and brianne too?? i feel a conference call coming on...
Isn't it so sad that now Sprint is offering you a better deal since you've found a different co. They should have been giving you a good price over all these years you've been a customer.
I've had my own cancelling experience with Sprint but it wasn't too bad. I called on the last day before the new billing cycle to cancel service on Niko's old phone and waited. And waited and waited and got hung up on. Then I started to panic because I didn't want to get stuck paying another month's charges so I kept calling back, waited some more, and when I finally got to talk to a human her computer was down. Luckily it was only her computer and not everyone's so she transferred me and I waited some more, and explained my desperate situation when they tried to talk me out of cancelling. There was NO dissuading me at that point. Mr. Sprint could've dropped down out of the sky and crowned me with minutes and I'd still have turned him down. Finally it got cancelled.
Congratulations on the move! We did the same countdown back in February. We were so happy to leave Sprint. Luckily my brother and I both chose Cingular to go to so some of us still have unlimited minutes.
Mom and Dad stayed though, their loss.
:D
