Dickens of a Christmas

After missing it the last few years, we finally made it to the Dickens of a Christmas event in the square downtown. It was so much fun! Janelle loved it even if it was a little chilly. The shops were all decorated for the holidays, the shop employees dressed up in "Dickens" attire, there were trees and lights all over the square, and little vendors tempting you right and left with corn dogs, popcorn, bratwurst, cookies. We had a fun time and hope to make it again next year!

This is the closest Spencer would get to the big guy. He absolutely loved Santa last year, I guess he wasn't so attached to mommy last year at his ripe old age of 5 months. Fortunately he gave Mr. and Mrs. Claus a smile after they handed him a candy cane.

Janelle was VERY excited to see Santa. She's been talking about it for weeks. She made sure to tell him she's on the "nice" list.

What? Is that both kids smiling in the same picture? We will treasure this rare picture of both children happily standing still and smiling.

There was a puppet show going on in front of the Mom & Popcorn Co., so we first stopped in the candy store for some taffy and then enjoyed the puppets dancing to Christmas music. Janelle realized right as we were leaving that she was sitting next to a little girl who used to be in our ward, Maisy.

"Dear Santa,
I've been a very good girl this year. I would like an "Island Princess" Barbie for Christmas. And could you please bring my little brother a choo choo train? I will make you some chocolate chip cookies and leave a carrot for Rudolph at my house. Merry Christmas! Love, Janelle"

That really was a good Santa and that looks like a lot of fun. I can't believe it is almost Christmas. I also love how Janelle is crossing her legs in that one picture where she is watching the puppets, it cracks me up.

You are very photogenic Laura! I always notice that, but I don't know If I have told you before. I cannot believe that Janelle is going to be FIVE!!! I miss these kids. Thank goodness I have Christmas to look forward to. This is a very jumbled comment.
