It's a Marshmallow World in the Winter!

By popular demand, here is Alton Brown's homemade marshmallow recipe.

(And yes, Kyle actually made them, all I did was watch, taste test, make the suggestion to drizzle chocolate and peppermint on them, and make good of his word that he'd leave the kitchen sparkling when he was done. I usually come out on the good end when he decides to explore an unknown territory in the kitchen.)

See this recipe on air Thursday Dec. 20 at 2:00 AM ET/PT on the Food Network! (Or you could just DVR it instead of getting up at 2am.)

We've had all sorts of fun with these marshmallows over the past two days!

You can pile them high so they look like a big snow mound.

You can chunk them over your high chair because you've never seen real snow and think they're a snowball.

Here's the "ball"...or what Spencer calls them anyway.

You can stuff them in your mouth on a cold morning right out of your hot chocolate for some ooey gooey goodness.

You can drizzle chocolate and peppermint all over them and give them to your friends...

...The messy way of doing it of course!

Enjoy!

Wow, I haven't checked anyone's blogs in a long time because of all the moving and traveling craziness, but I just got caught up on yours! What a fun Christmas season you guys have been having! So fun to read about it all! And Happy Birthday Janelle (a bit late). I can't believe you're 5 already!
