Gotta keep this girl outdoorsy

As many of you probably know, I love outdoor stuff, even though I'm not really an expert at most of it, I still have fun. Of course, growing up it Utah makes access to these types of activities easier, but just because we live in Texas now doesn't mean I'm not going to try getting Janelle interested.

Since she just turned 5 last month she's now old enough for the climbing wall at the gym. I'd like to think we had a pretty successful first attempt at climbing.


The extra rope on the back of her harness is so I could get her down. The easy climbs at the gym all use auto-belays, and they only let you down if you weigh at least 45 lbs. So, she'd climb up as far as she could, then I'd have to pull her down. Not being able to fall is very conducive to learning how to climb.
