Dear Moms with Little Boys-
Where in the WORLD do you find decent-looking dress shoes that are not velcro??? I've tried Target, I've tried Payless, I've tried Wal-Mart, I've been to Stride Rite, and have searched the outlet mall high and low for some decent looking little boys dress shoes. The ones I have right now for Spencer are ugly brown cheap velcro shoes so that every single Sunday that he sits on my lap at church they snag my panty hose and make a run in them. It drives me CRAZY. Any good ideas? Thanks! They would be greatly appreciated. :)

What size does he wear now? Would Children's Place or Gap kids or carters have anything?
You wear panty hose? You're crazy! :)
I mean, good luck. :)
Celia- He's about an 8 1/2. I looked at Gap kids and Carter's awhile ago with no luck, but that was during the summer. Maybe I'll check again now that it's fall.
Sarah- Only when I wear shorter dresses/skirts. But now that I've had to buy them like every week I've about given up!
can't help sorry, but I know the search for the perfect shoe is hard! good luck.
I got some cute ones at old navy once when Brayden was little. They were brown and looked like they laced, but they were fake stretchy laces so they just slipped on. Doubt they still have the same ones, but it is another place to look. :)
Oh Laura.
This is my utter torment in life.
The search for decent dress shoes.
I've had good luck at payless. Check there, and go back again if they don't have any at the moment. Sometimes, it takes weeks.
I have also gotten some at Rack Room shoes, next to Ulta. Never Target--- I always have the WORST luck for boys shoes at target.
What color are you looking for? I just got some brown slip on ones that can be casual or churchy at Target. I would've liked to have more dressy ones, but these had to do. Finding dress shoes and sometimes even church clothes is hard. Since Colin is wearing white shirts since he turned 8(preparing for age 12) I've been putting the other boys in the same. It took me forever to find a white collared, button, dress shirt for Austin. I found it the other day at Kohls. Try Kohls, Sears, JcPenney... I'll let you know if I think of any more!

Did that URL work? I think those shoes are super cute. If it didn't work, google Stacy Adams® Bombay Boys Oxford. Also I saw a really cute pair of penny loafers on Zappos but they were almost $50. I bet you could find some cheaper loafers somewhere. Those are even shoelace less. Good luck. I wish I had a little boy to shoe shop for. :(
Kirstin- Oh yeah, Old Navy. I haven't been over there in awhile. I'll go check them out, thanks!
Emily- I'll keep checking Payless. I did look at Rack Room about a month ago and all I could find were sandals and tennis shoes. Maybe now that it's fall they'll have a bigger selection.
Mindy- I'm looking for brown too. I'll have to give Target a try again...since I'm there practically ever day. :)
Jenni- Super cute! I love them! I'll have to run to the mall and see if they have them in stock.
Thanks everyone! Now I have more hope for Spencer's shoe hunt. :)
Hey, I was going to say the ones at Target are super cute. I saw them the other day too.
I have found some really cute little boy dress boots at JC Penney a few times, and it was always when they were having a sale too, so 50% off the sale price. Maybe you'll find some there. I haven't been in awhile, but usually have great luck when I do go there. Good luck! I just had to tell you this totally random memory that I had the other day. I have been thinking up fun crafty Halloweenish ideas lately to do with my kids. When a funny little memory came to my mind of you. I remember being pretty young, prob. around 9ish, and going to your house with my mom for something. On your windows, you all had made little gravestones with little sayings on them. The only saying I remember was this one, "R.I.P., Laura died from eating her oatmeal." Hahahahaha! :D Isn't that crazy that I remember that. :D
Hanah- That is HILARIOUS! Do you know, to this day I STILL do not like oatmeal?!?! Good times, good times.
Wal-Mart does have a black lace-up dress shoe that is cute. They also have some basic cowboy boots. We bought a pair of those boots for Jabob to use as both a casual and a dressy thing, and well...it is hard to get those things off because he never wants to take them off! Good luck in your search!
Cindy
I have found some great dress shoes at Kohl's (NEVER buy anything at Kohl's for full price, there will always be a sale!) Also, on Ebay you can find great deals on Stride Rite shoes. I get Ethan's summer sandals that way. I hate Target's shoes for boys because I've had bad experiences with them falling apart within a month. At the mall you'd be surprised at the good selection at the department stores, especially Macy's (if it's still there?). Good Luck!!!
