Spencie News

Today Spencer had his kidney follow-up appointment and it went GREAT! He had his stent removed and then his doctor did an ultrasound to check on his kidney. The kidney is already back to normal size. Yea! I'm so happy that the surgery went so well and that it's already fixed the problem! He still has reflux in both of his kidneys (a pretty minor problem), so they'll still have to check on that every few months and probably have a few more tests done. But since he's still so young, the doctor's pretty confident that he'll grow out of it. They normally don't start treating that kind of problem until a kid is 7 or 8. For now he doesn't have to go back to the urologist until December. Woohoo! (Can you tell I'm excited?)

On another note, Spencer did the cutest thing on Sunday. I had to keep him home from church again because of his stitches and stent. He was watching Janelle get dressed and putting her shoes on which made Spencer want his church shoes on. So he brought them to me and I put them on. Then he went up to Janelle and politely asked,

"Janelle, dance wif me?"

Janelle, of course, was flattered and said with a huge grin in her girly high pitched voice, "Okay Spencer!" She grabbed his hands and they started twirling around together. A few minutes later Janelle and Kyle had to head out the door for church, and I was doing some dishes. Spencer came up to me and said,

"Mommy no disses. Dance wif me peas?"

Who in the world could resist that kind of request from their two-year-old son??? I immediately abandoned my dishes, turned on some music and danced with my two-year-old. What a little gentleman he is!

Here are his dancin' feet.

Gotta love that grin!

Quite the waltzer.

This is one sweet moment, I will never forget!

And then 15 minutes later he got distracted by his new book.

Man, I love this kid!

P.S. Don't forget to check out Tuesday's "Pay it forward" post!
