Back Online.

Did you miss us? Well...we learned a few lessons this last week without TV or Internet.

Lesson 1: We don't really watch too much tv to begin with, and it was easy for us to go the week without it (as long as the DVR recorded "Chuck," "The Office," "Smallville," and "Ugly Betty" so we could watch them later!). A lot of times the tv is simply on for background noise. So in place of tv background noise we listened to a lot of music. It was nice! (I'll relay my little experience with Spencer and music later.) I did watch the BYU/TCU game on Thursday because Kyle got to go to it and I really wanted to see it. But that was it!

Lesson 2: We cannot live without the Internet. Our lives pretty much depend on it. We bank, check the weather, search for recipes, email, shop (though not too much), look words up, blog, facebook, and Kyle does school and job stuff on the Internet. By Wednesday we had to turn our no Internet rule to no Internet surfing because there were so many things we actually needed to do. The funniest thing was when Kyle wanted to look a word up in a dictionary. We have two dictionaries, but we couldn't find them, we must have boxed them up and put them in the attic because we don't have very much shelf space. Besides who needs a dictionary when you have dictionary.com?!? (He ended looking it up!)

I didn't miss blogging much because nothing too exciting happened over the week. But I couldn't leave you with a boring pictureless post, so here are some old pictures that I've been saving for a rainy day.

This is from Kyle's birthday.
(Can't remember if I posted it already, and am too lazy to look.)
I love how Spencer's trying to blow out his candles!
Did I mention we spent Kyle's 30th birthday at Peter Piper Pizza?!?!

I had to finish documenting Spencer's surgery, so here's a nice shot of his big ol' bandaid covering his incision. The doctor and nurse told us we might not have to change his bandage at all until his follow-up appointment. But they gave us stuff to change it with anyway. The day after we got home from the hospital the bandage was nice and bloody and disgusting. Having to deal with his stent and everything else, I knew there was no way I could do it. Fortunately we have a super nice bishop who is a doctor and was more than happy to help us out. He was a pro and Spencer hardly squealed. He even walked out of the office happy with a lollipop in hand!
Obviously he wasn't thrilled I was taking his picture.

About a month ago Janelle lost her second tooth. It had been super loose for a few days, but Janelle really, really wanted to lose it at school so she could go to the nurse and get a special tooth necklace. So finally one day I stuck an apple in her lunch and it did the trick!
The funniest part, is that she didn't even tell me about it until about an hour after she'd gotten home from school. I'd picked her up and everything and she hadn't said a word about it. Only when I asked, "How was school today Janelle?" did she answer nonchalantly, "Oh yeah...I lost my tooth!" Then she ran and got it out of her backpack. Silly girl.
.
.
One of Janelle's jobs is to set the table for dinner. Recently Spencer has shown an interest in helping too, so I usually let him put the silverware on. A few nights ago he pulled a large serving spoon out of the drawer and insisted that it was "'Pencie's 'poon."
He ate rice with it and everything!

My mom asked me to take my brother's picture, here's one of my favorites.
Isn't he cute?
.
.
One day I went to get Spencer up from his nap and found him like this...
He'd pulled the drawer out under his bed and made a little bed inside of it.
.
.
I've been doing lots of outside running lately. That little white speck is me running at Erwin park.
Okay, that's me running at a snails pace because I'd spent the first hour and a half at the park chasing Janelle on her bike.
Stay tuned, there might be an 8-Mile Turkey Trot in my future!!!
.
.
A few weeks ago we attended our neighborhoods National Night Out. My kids rarely get soda, so of course both of them walked around the entire night with cans of orange soda stuck to their mouths. It was hilarious scrubbing two orange mustaches when we got home!

That's it for now. Maybe something worth blogging about will happen this week.

P.S. Early voting starts TOMORROW!!! Anyone can vote early, so if you don't want to stand in line on election day, go starting tomorrow up through 4 days before election day.

Welcome back! Love the picture of Spencer in his makeshift "bed"... I have a few just like that of Ben! Oh, and I agree, we definitely could NOT survive without the internet!

Glad to see you back! I should take a break from the computer, but I don't know if I could survive. :) That is great you were able to do that.

OH, if you're doing the Turkey Trot let me know! I think Kirstin and I are going to do that as well!
