Let me preface this post by saying that it is really hard to surprise me with Christmas presents. Prior to Christmas I usually hand Kyle a list of items I would like or need that usually has one thing that I have starred, underlined, bolded, and italicised...and usually I end up getting that one thing. In years past it has been anything from shoes to a kitchen table to a crock pot to make-up. A lot of times I even end up picking it out.
But THIS year, I didn't really have much of a list. I got an SLR camera for my birthday that I've been wanting for years and years and I'm still majorly on a high from having it!
It came down to a few days before Christmas and Kyle said he still had no clue what to get me.
Fast forward to Christmas morning...
...I'm opening a present from Kyle that looks like it's clothes. I open the box and find a pair of binoculars and an envelope. The first thing that pops in my head is "Oh no, he's going to make me go bird watching." Seriously, that is the very first thing I thought! But I definitely didn't give him enough credit, because in the envelope were two tickets to see "Annie" at the Bass Performance Hall in Ft. Worth. Now we hadn't gone to see a play since we were in New York 5 1/2 years ago, so I was REALLY excited!
The day after Christmas we drove down to Ft. Worth, had a really nice Mexican dinner, walked around downtown and then went to see the show! It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun! The show was really cute and the performance hall was amazing! It was so pretty!
This is the single picture we took...on Kyle's phone (so excuse the quality). Check out the cool angels sculpted onto the side of the building.
Thanks honey! I had an amazing time! I feel cultured once again. :)

I've still never been to the Bass. I may have to drum up a reason though...
I'm glad someone I know got to enjoy that musical! I actually got my parents tickets for my mom for Christmas. My dad got sick the day of the performance, which was on his bday so they missed out! Nice job Kyle.
Good job Kyle! That was a nice thoughtful gift. Kudos to you.
What a great surprise. Looks like a fun night out!
