Here's what we've been up to lately...
Janelle went back to school last Thursday, woohoo! She still had a minor rash, but she hadn't had a fever for more than 24 hours, so the doctor said she was safe. She's now completely 100% rash, fever, and throw-up free. Hooray!!! She was one happy little girl going back to school...and I was one happy Mommy sending her off! Having her home three days in a row made me realize that sending her to school (instead of homeschooling her) this year was definitely the right decision. I'd been questioning myself all year, wondering if it was really the right thing to do. But this week confirmed to me that it was. Starting on Monday she'd ask me throughout the day what I thought her class was doing at school at that particular moment...on Tuesday she started asking me about every 2 hours...by Wednesday, it felt like she was asking me every 10 minutes! It was at that point that it dawned on me that she really does love school. She loves her teacher (and so do I!!!), she loves being with her friends, and she loves the things they do there. Janelle is definitely my little social butterfly! I feel completely at peace with our decision to send her to school now.

All the rest of us have stayed healthy!!! (Well, so far anyway...knock on wood!!!) I suppose all those clorox wipes, major bathroom cleanings, bed strippings, and hand scrubbing 'til our hands were raw paid off!

Spencer is about 97% potty trained!!! I can't tell you what a huge relief that is. It's absolutely positively fabulous. He still has a few accidents here and there, but for the most part he's got the routine down. Goodbye pricey diapers, hello underwear!.

Kyle's in grad school full swing, and loving it! He's already a member of the American Counseling Association, goes to required counseling sessions once a week, and had his first paper due tonight. His job is also going well...despite some of the crazies he's had to deal with. :) He's gone a LOT, but it's well worth it..

We bought a new book shelf! I know, not exactly the most exciting news to you, but super exciting to me! A few months ago we packed up a ton of our books just because we didn't have room for them, and I can't tell you how sad it made me! Kyle and I are both really good about getting rid of stuff we don't use, but both of us have a soft spot in our hearts for books. It is SO hard for us to get rid of old books. Needless to say, we just had too many for the minimal storage we have in our house. Last weekend we brought a pretty new bookshelf home and unpacked most of them. It was like seeing old friends again. Speaking of books, I just finished reading Inkheart and am now half way through The Goose Girl. I love reading! Sometimes I forget how much I love it..

Other than reading, being the germ nazi, and cleaning like a mad woman, I've also been busy conjuring up a few crafty projects here and there (more to come on that later) and have also taken up a new marketing project for my dad. Hello Photoshop and Illustrator! I can really have way too much fun playing around with both of those programs...seriously, WAY TOO MUCH FUN!.

So that's what we've been up to...ta ta for now!

I love books too. We have boxes of them as well that don't fit on book shelves (we have four book shelves). Hooray for full-time grad-school hubbies! My husband loves it too, and I agree, totally worth it! So with Spencer, is he nighttime potty trained too? If so, please tell me how on earth you did it! I'm so glad Janelle is better.
Yay! Janelle is better! And congrats to Spencer on the potty training!
Mike and I are the same way with books. And I also love to read! I love it so much, I avoid it because if I find a good book, all I want to do every spare minute is read, so I get nothing else done.
We could use your cleaning frenzi over here!! I'm glad everyone is healthy. Looking forward to seing your projects you've been working on.
Kendra- He actually is nighttime potty-trained, and I have no idea how it happened! Just over the weeks that we started potty training he started staying dry at night. I seriously thought that part was going to take a long time. Sorry, I have zero advice for you, but I will wish some potty luck your way!
congrats on getting your life in order. it's always nice to feel like things are going well, no matter how small it may seem at the time.
