Floor Space

Apparently, the floor is MUCH more exciting to my kids these days than their beds or the kitchen table. One night Janelle thought it would be fun to "camp out" on her floor.

We set up a little bed and she slept there for two nights in a row!

The third night Janelle thought it would be fun to invite Spencer to her "camp out."

Now my kids rarely sleep in the same room, so I knew it would be a late night for both of them. Nonetheless, I wasn't about to spoil their fun. :)Sure enough, they didn't fall asleep until around 10:00 that night, and then both came running into our room about 3am due to thunder and lightning, but I know they both had a fun time!

Not only have we been sleeping on the floor, we've also been dining on the floor.
Okay, really this is just an occasional treat...dinner picnic on the floor and a movie. But they love it! (Does anyone else love the 69 cent slushies at QT?!?!) It takes my kids like three days to drink one, but it's the perfect treat for the heat!

I remember thinking that anything out of the norm was totally cool like making a train out of Grandma's kitchen chairs. You're a very patient Mom to go with the flow like that. ;o)

I've been giving a Relief Society lesson in all our wards on the tried and true tradition of eating together as families. One of the things we've talked about is making the experience fun for little children by doing things in an unconventional way once in a while. Eating on the floor was something we mentioned. Perfect Picture to go along with the lesson.

There are many nights when I go check on Avary before I go to bed, and find that she has made herself a little bed on the floor. Kids are so silly. :)

That's their Grandpa Platt's way of camping!
