Family Update

I had big plans for posting a few pictures tonight, but I'm having technical difficulties...so instead, here's are a few pictureless highlights that have been going on around here...(pictures hopefully coming soon)...

  • Janelle FINALLY lost her "pirate" tooth a few weeks ago. When she was 2 1/2 she fell and bumped it on the sidewalk. We didn't have dental insurance for a long, long time, so we just dealt with it and did lots of photo editing for FOUR YEARS. I don't think anyone was as happy as I was to see that tooth go! Except maybe the Tooth Fairy, she paid Janelle $5 for that tooth.
  • Spencer graduated from a toddler bed to bunk beds. He LOVES them! I don't think he's slept on the bottom bunk once, he loves that top bed too much!
  • Kyle got a promotion at work today...yea! Instead of a financial aid assistant counselor, he's now an official counselor. Woohoo! It's the perfect graduate student job and we're so grateful he has it.
  • Baby girl Mammen is putting on the pounds pretty quickly and we are more than ready for her to make an appearance! At my appointment last Wednesday, the doctor was pretty sure she was about 7 lbs. Which means she's probably 8 lbs. this week. Yikes! I am being induced on the 9th of October if she hasn't arrived yet. Trust me, I'm doing all I can to get her here. This morning I walked 4 miles on the treadmill and then another mile tonight at the park. Cross your fingers for me!
  • I've mostly been spending my time getting ready for this baby. I've got clothes and blankets washed, I'm almost done making all the crib bedding, most of the baby stuff is set up (crib, swing, car seat, etc.), I totally cleaned our stroller, and I finally broke down and bought some diapers. Ugh, I am not excited to have to buy those again.

Sounds like lots of excitement at the Mammen house! I'm so excited to see pictures of Baby Girl Mammen when she arrives. That's great that you are doing so much walking. I tried that with both my boys and both were late, but I wasn't doing any walking when I was pregnant with Avary, and she was early. You would think walking would help, right?! Good luck!

Oh, and about not being excited to buy diapers... I use Fuzzybuns with Will, and love them.
