Two weeks ago we picked Janelle up from school early (without her knowing beforehand) and surprised them with a little getaway at the Great Wolf Lodge. It's this really fun hotel in Grapevine with a rather impressive indoor water park. We've never done a little getaway just with our own little family. Usually we go with some kind of extended family, which of course we LOVE! But it was fun to just do something with our little family this time. It was the perfect getaway for a dreary, cold, February weekend.
I was a little worried about how Annelyse would do being in a hotel, but she was a little trooper! She loved the water park. I think she really enjoyed the constant roar of the water and the perfect humid climate. She was also pretty good at night. Other than just being awake at 6am and waking up the other two exhausted kids, she was great!
We checked in around 3pm on Thursday and spent the whole afternoon in the water. At about 6, the kids were hungry, so we rinsed them off and took them to a nearby Red Robin. When we got back Spencer was exhausted, so he, Ally and I got all pajama'd up and went to the little bedtime storytime the hotel put on while Kyle and Janelle hit the water slides again. The next morning we hit the water park again and stayed until late afternoon and then went home. It was a GREAT two days!

Looks like you guys had a great time. My boys love that place and keep asking when we can go back.
