Today Ally turned 6 months! We celebrated by cheering Auntie Em at her district tennis tournament (which she came in first by the way, woohoo!) and then had to go get shots at her 6-month check up (poor baby!). Fortunately there were only 3 shots this time and she only cried for like a minute when they were done.
6 mo. stats-
Weight - 17 lbs. 3 oz. (85%ile)
Height - 28 inches (totally off the charts percentile-wise)
I thought for sure she was 20 lbs. my arms ache so much when I'm holding her. Guess not quite yet. I should be used to my huge babies by now, but I'm still always shocked whenever I see their height and weight...especially when they've grown like 2 inches in 2 months!
Milestones:
- Her first two bottom teeth made their debut on Monday (while I was at the dentist of all places...sorry Mom and Dad!).
She's starting to get into the crawling stance - oh boy, SO not ready for that yet! I often find that she has wriggled around the floor into different locations either by rolling or scooting...
...sometimes she gets stuck. :(
- She loves to eat! So far we've tried rice cereal and oatmeal, bananas, mango, pears, sweet potato, avocado and peas. She's not a huge fan of peas or oatmeal, but she seems to like everything else. Still no luck with a bottle (sigh). I'm making baby food this time around and am surprised at how easy it has been. I really wish I'd done it with the other two. I've also been shocked at how much water you have to add to really get it to the right consistency for first foods. So when you're buying baby food, you're paying for about 1/3 part fruit or veggie (depending on the consistency of course) to about 2/3 part water. Can we say rip off?
- She can't sit up yet, but has amazing abs. If she's laying flat on the floor on her back and I hold her feet down on the floor she can pull herself into sitting position, crazy girl!
- A few days ago she started growling. It is HILARIOUS! Seriously, we're going to have to start calling her a tiger, because she does it all. day. long. Love it!
For the last 3 weeks we've managed to keep her healthy, yea!! Glad it's finally starting to warm up...I think it's paying off! We sure love her.

Geez...I've gotten behind on blogs. (I blame fb) She is SOOOOOO cute! And I can't believe she's already 6 months either...by now she's almost 7 I'm sure.
