Evelyn Grace is well into 5 months, I can't believe how fast she's growing! I'm not sure what her weight and height are since we haven't been to the doctor this month. But I do know she's killing my back and she's extremely tall for a 5-month-old! She's already fitting into 9-month size clothes. NINE MONTHS! I swear, either they are shrinking baby clothes or she's my biggest one yet. Crazy girl!
She's one beautiful baby. I can't ever get enough of her! She looks exactly like Janelle did as a baby, especially when she grins at you.
Here's what she's been up to...
Still no sitting, but she can hold a baby crunch like you wouldn't believe. She likes to sit in her Bumbo seat, but she's so tall I have to stay right next to her when she's in it, or she'll scoot it right into something.
Her bottom two teeth have fully popped through, thank heavens! She was a fussy mess for a few weeks! She's only had rice cereal three times. Mostly from sheer laziness on my part. It's so much easier and less messy to to just nurse her. Oh well. Now that the holidays are over maybe I'll be better about it. I'm hoping a little food will help her start sleeping better through the night.
She's an okay sleeper at night. Remember those few glorious days of 7-hour stretches? Yeah. Those were a fluke. I usually feed her about 10pm and she'll last until 2:30, then she's up again about 6:00am. At least at 2:30 she'll go right back to sleep. At 6:00 she thinks she's up for a few hours. Too early for a non-morning mom. You'd think by 4 kids I could do mornings better...no such luck.
She can roll over from her back to tummy, but not vice versa.
She loves to blow raspberries and just last night she started making kissing noises. It's awfully cute if I do say so myself. :) She's proving to be just as verbal as the other kids, and can easily let her voice be heard over the other kids. No such luck for a quieter, easier-going kid. It's just not in their genes I guess. Bring on another stubborn, opinionated, loud one. :)
She took her first trip to Utah this month! It was so fun! Evelyn and I surprised my sister, Erin, with a visit. We visited BYU, ate out a LOT, visited Grandma and Grandpa Mammen in Park City, saw snow, saw the lights at Temple Square and shopped until we dropped! She loved all the attention and seeing all the sights. I can't believe how great and easy she was!
She's a momma's girl if I've ever seen one! (And getting more clingy!) At Janelle's school Christmas party, one of her friends asked if she could hold Evelyn. I said, sure, and handed her to her. Evelyn gave her one hard look and let out a wail until I took her back. I couldn't help but be secretly pleased. :) She's started doing that more frequently with other people. What can I say? I feed her. :)
She's a little sweetheart with a smile that can melt your heart...even at 2:30 in the morning! We all love her and are so thankful she joined our family.
