THAT Behind. 4th of July in Park City, UT

I have hundreds (if not a thousand) pictures from our trip to Park City, so it's a little overwhelming trying to post them when blogger is so very slow. But here's a little peek at the 4th of July. We had a BLAST! And not only that, the weather could not have been any more perfect. That was probably the coldest 4th of July I've ever experienced in my life - a whopping 58 degrees for the high. It was heaven! After last week I am sorely tempted to make the drive back there by myself with 3 kids just to escape the extreme heat here in Texas. If my sister were not getting married in 2 weeks, I'm pretty sure I'd be there!

Watching fireworks.

My niece, Ayden playing with a light up toy. I LOVE this picture!

THAT Behind. Swim Team

Our little swimmer.

Janelle did awesome for her first year of swim team. She can swim all four strokes and even raced at her last meet the 25 meter fly, AND came in 7th overall! She finished the season with a bunch of ribbons and a great tan. Can't wait until next year!

THAT Behind. June Swimming Lessons

Back in June Spencer took a session of swim lessons. The first week I had about given up on him. He was really uptight in the water and wouldn't relax enough to try hardly anything. I didn't think he was learning one thing. (Although to give him a little credit, he WAS the youngest one in the class.) The second week something clicked in his little brain and he totally figured it out. He's not a pro-swimmer by all means, but were he to be thrown in a pool without a life jacket, he wouldn't drown! His teacher Ms. Christine was AWESOME with him. I can't wait to do lessons again with her next summer!

June Bugs

Summer lovin'. *Mwah* Boy do I love these two!
(And the other two missing from this picture!)

Clearly I have not been eating well lately...

Belated Mother's Day chocolate torte with mousse.

BBQ Sesame Ribs
I made these about a week ago and they are TO. DIE. FOR. I'll post the recipe soon!

See?

6:45pm- can we say bedtime?

Since school has been out, Janelle has loved not having to dress in uniforms every day. We're all about accessorizing these days. Hello there Fancy Nancy!

Last week we went to visit my good friend Robin and her two adorable boys, Ryan and Chase. Robin had Ryan the day before I had Ally in the same hospital!
They were clearly destined to be kindred spirits!

Carseat buddies.

Spencer and Chase pal'n around at Bahama Bucks.

Janelle in all her swimming glory. Pretty awesome shot if I do say so myself!

Janelle had her first swim meet on Monday. She did great for her first competition! She got first place in her free relay and 8th overall for 25 breaststroke! We're so proud!

Poor Spencer. He's kind of in that in-between stage where he doesn't take naps every day, but still NEEDS a nap every day. I had to take him to the doctor one day last week and after a busy morning at swimming lessons, being in the sun and then playing with his cousins, he conked out.

This is how we wear Spencer out...

...teaching him to swim.

Evidence of exhaustion...
