Week #1

It's definately been a busy week with the addition of Spencer to our family! He's a really good baby...except between the hours of 11pm and 2am. He's very mellow and usually only cries when he's hungry or needs a diaper change. He just seems to have a confused sense of daytime and nighttime. Hopefully he'll figure out the nighttime thing soon, he sure makes you tired night after night of staying up that late! He's a very strong baby and has already rolled over from his stomach to his back. Kyle and I were shocked that he could already do that! I guess it's a bonus from coming out so big! He gives us lots of little smiles throughout the day that just melt your heart (I guess it could be gas, but I like to think he's just happy!). Janelle has been really good with him so far. She loves to hold him and give him lots of hugs and kisses. She knows that she needs to be gentle around him and that she is definately not allowed to pick him up! She thinks poop and spit up are disgusting and knows to stay away during diaper changes! Silly girl. Anyway, things are going well. Grandma and Grandpa Mammen just left this morning to head back to Utah. They were a tremendous help with Janelle and the attention she needed during this big transition. So today starts life with just Janelle, Spencer, and I while Daddy is at work. Wish me luck! So far so good. It's 11:24 am and both Janelle and Spencer have had baths, Spencer has eaten 2 times since 6am, I washed some sheets, Janelle and I played legos, and now it's time for lunch. No shower for me yet, but maybe during naptime...or when Kyle gets home!

Hey! He's so cute!! Can't wait to see him. I'll call you soon. I didn't want to bother you with family there. Miss you at playgroup. Talk to you soon.

Oh so cute! I'm so impressed with how strong he is! kathryn was the same way at night... except it was only until 1. I couldn't take it for too long so Shane got to stay up with her once she was fed. Anyway, I hope he figures out his nights and days soon and we look forward to seeing you!
