Good Buddies

Nothing too exciting has been happening lately. We did go to Spencer's 2-month checkup on Thursday. Drumroll please......at 8 weeks he's a whopping 14 lbs. (95th percentile) and 23.5 inches (75th percentile). No wonder it's so hard for me to carry him in his carseat now! Such a big boy! But that's how we like him. He appears to be nice and healthy besides his little kidney issue. But apparently that's not phasing him too much seeing as he's growing so well! He did have to get 5 nice sized shots at his appointment and spent most of yesterday pretty mellow and sleepy. But today he's right back to normal. He has proven to be such a good baby. Most of the time he's really laid back and only cries if he's hungry or needs a diaper change. He still likes to get up twice during the night, but that's normal for a 2-month-old. I won't start complaining until he's 5 or 6 months and still waking up that much!

Janelle is so sweet with her little brother. If she hears him fussing her favorite thing to do for him is cover him up with a blanket and sing him a song. It's funny, because usually that works! I think Spencer likes his sister's company. Janelle really has had no jealousy issues and loves to help bathe him, give him a bottle, and hold him while watching cartoons. She's a very good big sister and I think really likes having another little person around.

Today we braved the heat to go to the park with our friends - since both Daddys were at work. It sure ended up being hot! I kept pouring water all over Spencer to keep him from getting too hot. And when Janelle and I finished our walk home, I sprayed her with the hose to cool off - clothes, shoes, and all! But she sure had a fun time with her friends!

Now we're happy to be in our air conditioned house, and I think it's about time for Janelle, Spencer and I to have nap time. Hopefully both kids will cooperate! Happy Saturday to all!

Thanks for braving the heat to come and play with us at the "slaughter" park! We had a great time, even when those soccer kids were beating up our little preacious ones... and I had to yell a little bit to maintain order with such an unruly bunch. And poor Spencer, such a little roly poly who didn't complain once about the heat... what a lovely morning.

Spencer, you are a big boy! I remember Janelle was tall - was she high on the weight percentiles too? That's great that Janelle is so good with Spence. I think that's a big plus of having a little space in between kids. At least I noticed it with Sam and Ezra. I hope this doesn't make you too jealous, but it rained here last night and today was so cool and pleasant. It felt like fall even. I hope the temps cool off for you too.

Ginger- Fall-like weather??? I'm not sure I even know the meaning of that term. Are you kidding? I am SO jealous! I was just talking with my friend today about how we wished it was winter already!

I am glad to hear that Janelle is adjusting well to being a big sister. I hoping that Jake will like his baby brother too.

Spencer is the same weight that Jake was at 2 months! Big chubby boys, I love it!
