"Mommy, me and Spencer are afraid of thunder."

But hiding under the blanket makes us feel safer.

Lovin' the rain...but still afraid of the loud thunder.

Hooray for RAIN!!!!

It's funny, at the first sounds of thunder, I was overjoyed at the prospect of rain! However, out in the living room, little Spencer let out a little cry of protest to the loud noise. THEN, Janelle comes out of my room from watching a movie panicked at the thunder. After picking up Spencer and cuddling Janelle next to me on the couch we finally heard the first sounds of rain. Not just little sprinkles, but a full-on rainstorm! We've been praying and praying for rain, and our parched soil was finally a little relieved today. We decided to venture out to the porch to check out the big rain drops, then Janelle decided to venture even further out into the open for a little midday shower (but always running back for protection from the loud "BOOMs"). I probably would have joined her if I hadn't been holding Spencer!

What I'm most grateful for today:
RAIN!

Oh you're so lucky! We got about 2 minutes of sprinkling.... it was sad! There was also about that much thunder and I got excited for nothing. I'm glad Janelle got to play a little bit. I was telling Shane how much I loved playing in the rain when I was younger and would probably play in it now if it ever rained enough!

We've had rain in the last few days too! It is funny b/c Bella has never been affraid of thunder until this spring when we had tornado sirens and we had to take cover, it was a loud storm. So these last few days she's been reminded of being scared and she keeps telling me, "I scared of thunder, I need my mommy."

I was so dissapointed that the storm didn't produce more rain! The kids were so EXCITED, and we all went outside and ran around for a second in the grass. We were eating dinner, so the kids took their corn dogs outside.
