Spencer Update

Spencer's radiology test went really well last week. He was not very happy about getting an IV and a catheter put in...but who would be? He was such a good boy and was nice and still. They didn't have to put him out after all which was good, but made me mad because I'd made him go 6 hours without eating for no reason. Fortunately they let me give him a bottle the second I found out. The hardest part for me was seeing my sweet little baby strapped to this huge machine. He kept looking up at me with his sweet face wondering what in the world was going on. Lucky for us all, he won't remember it!

I finally heard back from Spencer's urologist today about his results. It turned out to be really good news! His doctor thought his kidney was dilated because of some kind of blockage preventing urine from getting into his bladder. However, his test showed his kidney working perfectly! Now he thinks that the bigger kidney might just be a physiological trait. It's just the way he came. The doctor is continuing to monitor both of his kidneys. He'll do another ultrasound to check them out in November. But the best news is that Spencer doesn't have to have surgery in a month. If he had shown blockage in his kidney like they suspected, they would have had to remove it when he was about 4 months. Kyle and I both feel we can breathe a sigh of relief! We're so grateful for such positive news and that we have an overall very healthy baby. Thanks for all your love and support!

I'm glad everything went well! Maybe that explains why he hasn't seemed to be bothered by it either! That's great news to hear.

Whew. Now there's a sigh of relief. Janelle must be slipping him some Little Debbies when you're not looking. They're magic.

Well, what a relief for you! I can't stand the thought of a baby having to be sedated or undergo surgery. I'm glad all is well. When your mom and dad were here for Marcor's wedding, your Dad told me several times that I remind him so much of you:) He said it's not my appearance, but mannerisms as well. Who knew? By the way, Janelle's haircut is so cute. Parker still misses her.
