...at least we got a teeny tiny glimpse of it today! Today's temperatures turned to freezing by 6:00 this morning. It was wonderful! We actually had to turn our heater on...what a strange idea.
It's been nice lounging around and drinking hot chocolate and doing a little scrapbooking and photo taking and of course, listening to Christmas music.Janelle had a blast outside playing in the "snow" (which was really just frozen sleet). She climbed up on her trampoline, made a snow angel, covered herself in snow, and even tried jumping a few times (which ended in some beautifully graceful falls)! I couldn't believe she stayed out there almost an hour because it was FREEZING! We lived in Utah for 5 years, and yes it gets pretty cold there. But, I definately get colder here because it is humid cold and not dry cold like in Utah. So when I say it was cold, it really was VERY COLD! Janelle definately is her father's daughter in that respect, she seemed to love it!

When she finally came in with drenched gloves, a red nose, pink cheeks, and a wet bum, I wrapped her in a blanket and had her go snuggle with daddy. She ended up taking a great nap!
With the blustery weather came a few unexpected events. This morning I was supposed to take my nativity scene to the church for the Creche this weekend. So I drive SLOWLY to the church trying to avoid all the patches of black ice in the freezing cold to find not a single soul even there! I was a little perturbed. However, it's their loss really. Oh well.
The rest of the morning and afternoon were fine until I decided to make dinner. Kyle's had a bad cold the last few days, so I decided to make some cream of chicken soup for him. I got it all ready with a fussy baby at my feet and was pouring it into the bowls when I poured some of the boiling hot soup right on my hand. It really did not feel good. Fortunately Kyle heard my scream and came to my rescue. He took Spencer and got Janelle situated with her dinner while I ran water over my hand for what seemed like forever. Meanwhile, I was supposed to go to a cub scout meeting, but my hand ordeal took forever to feel good enough to take out of the running water, and THEN I realized there was terrible black ice on the road. There was no way I was driving to the church! (Why they even ended up having it I'm not quite sure, I'll bet nobody even came.) Things have finally calmed down. My hand is okay as long as I keep aloe vera and a cold pack on it. The kids are in bed. Now it's time to veg and enjoy "The Office!" It was a rough evening, but I still really enjoyed our "snow" day.

Awww I love the picture of Janelle by the tramp! So cute! I'm glad she enjoyed it... it's SO cold!
I am so sorry that you burned your hand! I think burns are the worst. Remember the day you and my mom came to Idaho and I burned my hand the day before. Probably not, but I was freaking out because I could not clean and stuff. I hate burns. I hope it feels better.
Those pictures are adorable. It is going to be weird to be back in weather that is cold!
What a day! Sorry about your hand, burns are the worst. Sounds like Janelle had a GREAT day though - I'm glad she had so much fun in the "snow" and took a good nap for you. Watching "The Office" probably helped you forget about the rough patches of the day - I LOVE that show. It's my new favorite.
