Janelle's Cooking School

Yesterday Janelle was very bored and driving me crazy. We didn't really have anywhere to go, so I had to come up with something for her to do. We decided to have cooking school. Janelle LOVES to cook, so it was a big hit! First we made "egg boats" with little sails. Then we made letter pretzels: "J" for Janelle, "D" for Daddy, and "L" for Laura. (For these recipes go here.) Then Janelle made her very first pudding pie. I decided to basically let her decide what should go in it. It ended up being chocolate fudge pudding with little marshmallows mixed in, in a graham cracker crust, with whip cream, chocolate chips, and sprinkles on top. It was SO SWEET, but Janelle seemed to think it was the best dessert ever!

So what could have been a frustrating day for both of us turned out to be a pretty fun day! Sometimes I forget that it's okay to let your house and laundry slide for a few hours so you can play with your kids. Can't wait to do it again!

Janelle, can I hire you to come be the chef at my house? I would love to have a dinner of eggs, pretzels, and pie! Actually we really want to try the pretzels. I saw the recipe on E's site. We'll let you know how it goes.

What a great idea Laura. I will have to try that with the girls.

I read this post right as I was desperate to do something with Ayden because she was going crazy with boredom. So we made the pretzels. They were a lot of fun. I am on a no sugar, no carb diet this week so I could not taste them but they looked really yummy and the smells were killing me. We made some for the neighbor kids because I could not keep them in the house. It was fun and perfect timing! Thanks
