Janelle's First Camping Trip
Last weekend my parents invited Janelle to go "camping" in their backyard. They are headed off to their stake's pioneer trek in a few weeks and wanted to practice some dutch oven cooking as well as make sure the tents were in good shape (and no parts were missing!). So they decided to invite their older grandkids (Janelle and Mark) to join in the fun.
Here's Janelle ready to head to Grandma's house. Usually I don't allow her to watch movies in the car unless we are going to be in it longer than half an hour, but I had to run a few errands before we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's so I let her pick a movie this time. "Cars" it was to start her big night!

Janelle was SO excited to sleep in Daddy's sleeping bag (the only one we have!).
A quick hug from mommy before we had to take off and enjoy a night with just one child. Spencer even let us sleep in the next day!!!
My parents had some really cute pictures of the night in the backyard, but I haven't copied them yet. Apparently, Janelle only lasted until 2:30am outside because it got too cold and she kept kicking her sleeping bag off. My dad took her inside where she insisted on sleeping with Grandma in her bed the rest of the night. Let me tell you, Janelle is a VERY active sleeper. She tosses, turns, and kicks all night long. So my poor mom practically got kicked all night! Oh well, everyone had a fun time...including those of us who got the night off!

Janelle you are one lucky girl! I'm not going to let Sammy see this because he will be too jealous.
How fun! I am jealous you guys live so close to family. I would love a night free of Ayden! But more then that I bet Janelle loved it. She is getting so grown up.
Looks like fun Janelle! Too bad it got too cold in the night, but it sounds you had just as much fun sleeping in your Grandma's bed. Avary loves to kick me anytime I've shared a bed with her too!
What a fun little idea! Fun for everyone but Grandma at least!
I think most kids are wild sleepers. Josh rolls and grinds his teeth all night long. Ben talks in his sleep, mostly about food and cowboys.
