Above and beyond...

I just had to publicly thank my sweet husband for being so great this afternoon. Last weekend our ward swimming party got canceled due to rain. They rescheduled it for this week at the same time. However, this week we had a conflict: I had a baby shower to go to at the same time. I told Kyle he could either take the kids to the party by himself (which I knew he didn't want to do) or just keep them at home. By the time I left at 4:00 to go to the restaurant the shower was at, I was under the impression that he was just going to take it easy and stay home. I had a GREAT time with my friends and loved being without kids! We left the restaurant at about 5:45 and I realized I had a message on my phone from Kyle. He had just called to tell me that he was at the ward party and to join him if I got done in time. I called him back and they were just heading home, so that's where I met him. Apparently he'd taken the kids thinking there would be more activities than swimming, so he didn't take their swimsuits. But once he got there he realized that that's all they were doing, so he packed the kids back up and got their swimsuits and went back (it was only 5 minutes from our house). He stayed a good while swimming with BOTH kids hanging on him and then headed home once Spencer got hungry. I was so proud of him for taking on such a daring challenge!!! Thanks honey for being such a GREAT daddy!
