Yea!!! (and a tag response)

Thanks to all my well wishing commenters on my previous blog entries. I'm happy to report that today I had a GREAT morning!

First, I went to my weekly "Weight Watchers" meeting to find that I've lost 10 lbs. total since I started. That was a very nice feeling!

Right after my meeting I went to exercise at the gym to run my 3 miles for the second day in a row. Woohoo!! I hope I don't sound too self-involved, but I was just a LITTLE bit proud of myself! My whole life I've been a horrible runner, so I started the "Couch to 5K" 9-week running program that Jen also did and surprised myself by actually finishing it, a very good feeling! It's no marathon, but it's definitely a start. I'd like to work up to at least 8 miles. Although my next thing to focus on is swimming...350 meters. Should be fun trying to maintain running while working on swimming!

After I got home Kyle brought in my Amazon box that showed up this morning that contained the Fablehaven book I'd ordered that I've been so excited to read. I'm starting it this afternoon!! Hopefully I won't read it in one day since the second one hasn't shown up yet.

And despite the fact that Janelle got up 3 times last night complaining about her ear hurting, she is now fine and actually taking a nap this afternoon (a miracle!).

So after all of my previous complaintive (is that a word?) entries, I finally had something good to write about!

Also, I was tagged (again) by Jenni to answer the following questions:

What was I doing ten years ago?
I'd just finished my sophomore year of high school and was SO excited to be able get my license in a month and go on my first date. I'm sure I spent my first month of summer vacation hanging out with my best friends, driving around (in their cars), and talking about boys.

What was I doing one year ago?
I was 9 months pregnant and praying for Spencer to come a few weeks early and put me out of my misery.

Five snacks I enjoy:
Weight Watchers Fudge Bars (only 1 point!), Cheetos (which I rarely eat), apples with peanut butter, grapes, and dark chocolate covered almonds or dark chocolate m&ms

Five songs I know all the words to:
"Bad Day," the "Baby Signing Time" theme song, "My Favorite Things," the "Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses" theme song, "Savin' Me" (Nickelback)

Five things I would do if I were a millionaire?
Invest some of it in mutual funds, reserve some for my kids' college/mission funds, adopt a Chinese baby girl, TRAVEL, hire someone to clean my bathrooms and do laundry

Five of my Many bad habits:
Popping zits, procrastinating, not having enough patience especially with Janelle these days, letting my car get really dirty until Kyle gets sick of it and takes it to get cleaned, making too many "to do" lists

Five things I like doing:
Reading, exercising, girl's night out, photography and photo editing, going on vacation

Five things I will never wear again:
Short shorts, converse shoes, a bathing suit that shows any part of my stomach or upper thighs (ditto Jenni) due to beautiful stretch marks, stretch pants, layered socks.

Five of my Favorite toys:
My camera, my iMac computer (which will be fixed today!), my straight cutter thingy (for scrapbooking and cardmaking), Spencer's stroller, my kitchenaid

For anybody reading this, you are now tagged!!! (Becki, Ginger, and Sarah F. you are ESPECIALLY tagged!)

P.S. I've got LOTS of pictures to upload as soon as our computer is done!!!!

Laura P. (or A. or F.) Mammen! I am so proud of you. Weight loss is no joke! And consistent exercise, that's serious business. I actually looked up that whole "couch potato-5K" thingie after reading about it on your blog and I think I'm going to do it. You are my inspiration.

I think I'll look into that training program too. I'm still supposed to be getting ready to run a marathon with Mike when he gets back. I was going to register us for the Seattle marathon in November, and was somewhat relieved to find it was on a Sunday, so we aren't going to do it. We'll find another one later. That is good because I don't think I could run even 3 miles right now, which is why I'm going to look up that "couch potato-5k" thing, and you will be my inspiration too :)

Congrats on finishing the running program! I've actually decided to train for a triathlon now! I've kind of been MIA this whole week so I missed your other blogs. I'll catch up later. Hope things weren't too bad! :)

Jen- Hey, I'm training for a triathlon too!! I'm trying to find one for this fall that isn't on a Sunday, unfortunately most of the ones in my area fall on Sundays. Hopefully I'll find one!

Laura, Good job loosing lbs!! That makes a big difference. I can't loose any weight. I don't know what is wrong with me. Oh well, good for you and thanks for doing the tag.

You are doing so great with exercising and WW. I am glad we are doing it together. We are in our 8th week of doing it and this is the longest I have ever stuck to anything. Thanks for your support.
