Apparently, I was counting my chickens before they hatched when Spencer started eating baby food. He did great with the jars of baby food - he loved them all except green beans. I was so excited to have such an easy eater after Janelle who would have nothing to do with baby food. However, around Spencer's first birthday when I started introducing real solid foods (yogurt, pasta, cheese, canned and frozen vegetables, etc.) he turned into a major picky eater. He still likes baby food just fine, so I think it's a texture thing, but he is really hesitant to try anything solid. He doesn't even like bread...what baby doesn't like bread??? I'd tried macaroni and cheese a few times but on previous occasions he would have nothing to do with it. So tonight when I tried it he not only ate it but he also ate the cooked frozen peas. And to top it off this morning he ate fresh blueberries! A funny thing to be excited about, but I was ecstatic! Hopefully we are on the road to being more accepting of new foods. Any suggestions??? Please, send them my way!

Here's Spencer sporting his new seer-sucker suit he received for his birthday from Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa. (Don't you love his super cool pose?) I'm pretty sure he was the cutest little boy at church on Sunday. :) And the glasses? Yes, I tried to take them off to take a picture but he screamed every time I tried. So they stayed on. Maybe we should get some blue sunglasses.

Too cute! P Diddy rocks the seersucker while in the Hamptons so Spencer's in good company. :o) The shades are fab.
was definitely the sassiest dresser in nursery!!! so great.
That is the cutest pose!
What a cutie! I love it! He is just too adorable!
I have picky eaters too so I know how you feel, when you have a little break through it is so nice. I thought Alex would be a good eater but then around 12 months she stopped eating well. I think it is from teething though, so I hope it gets better, maybe it will for Spencer too.
Spencer looks super cute in that outfit.
Oh, and I love the new blog look.
Mac and cheese saves the day! It does at our house too. Also, I love the pic of Spencer in his new togs. It looks like he is doing the electric slide!
Love it, Kudos for snappy boy suits. I will have to agree with Kasia on the Mac and Cheese. That was a fave over here, my kids also liked to much on Eggos, and Josh has always been a huge fan of scrambled eggs. He didn't like them at first, but he is still a fan today. Ben was my pickier eater though... he loved rice cakes though, and I think (if I remember) that he liked shreadded cheese.
Mac and cheese is one of Hayden's favorites. He also loves scrambled eggs, eggos, green beans and fruit. What a cute suit!! I love having a boy. Their fun to dress.
I mean they're fun to dress. right?
I love the suit!!
The suit is so GQ! love it. Hats off to great grandparents. Try mashing up casseroles very finely like baby food. Austin seems to do o.k. with the few I've given him. i.e. lasagna, shepherds pie, mashed potatoes with gravy. What I have learned from my first two(Cameron is less picky than Colin), is to wait a week or two after trying a food that he turns his nose up and try again. They eventually develop a taste for it. Good luck!
so cute!! and i love your new layout!
Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Mindy- Loved your idea of mashing up casseroles. I think I'll try that tomorrow!
