Growing up, the Plano Balloon Festival was an annual outing in my family. So when I got the flier in the mail, I was ecstatic to take our kids. We got there a little too late to see all the balloons take off, but we did get a great view of them all up in the sky. Next year we'll get there at 6:30!!! Janelle's favorites were the Humpty Dumpty and ReMax Balloons. Why the ReMax Balloon you ask? Here's the story that goes with that one.

As we were pulling into the parking lot the balloons were right above our heads and Janelle goes, "What do those letters say on that balloon with the R?"
"It says, "ReMax."
"Oh yeah, there's a sign by our neighbor's house that says that."

...then followed the simplified explanation about real estate agencies.

This is why Janelle is so much like her Daddy. She remembers and notices things that I don't even think to notice. Sure I knew there were a few houses in our neighborhood for sale so they obviously had signs out in front of them. But if you had asked me which real estate agencies they were using, I couldn't tell you. You can save those kinds of questions for Janelle or Kyle!

Even though we didn't get to see the balloons take off, we still had fun taking the kids to the bounce house, the gigantic blow up slide, doing arts and crafts in the kid's tent, eating doughnuts, and walking around getting free sunscreen, chips, balloons, fans, and stickers.

Spencer "bouncing" around. He didn't so much bounce as walk around laughing and falling all over the place!

Janelle trying out a violin at the Plano Symphony Orchestra's booth.

Bangin' on the drums.

Growing up I remember huddling in jackets and blankets drinking hot chocolate while we watched the balloons. Maybe it's all that global warming garbage because by the time we left we were soaked in sweat. Just lovely.

fun stuff! Chris took my older two Friday night and they watched the Balloon Glow. They loved it. Luckily we live like right here so we got to see the balloons just about every day when they took off- twice a day. Traffic was awful, though!!!

We used to do that as a family too! I wanted to do it this year but my mom told me it costs $ now. Was it worth the price? How much was it?

Looks like fun....I didn't know they did activities! I just thought it was balloons only. Maybe next year!

Have you ever been in one? Jeffrey and I went one time in Park City for our anniversary (which was actually supposed to happen the day we got engaged but the weather was bad and ruined all of Jeffrey's secret plans). It's pretty cool. I thought I might be scared because of the height factor but the whole ride is is really kind of gentle and soothing. But is sure is cold up in the sky.
