Janelle was singing "A Whole New World" to herself this afternoon when Daddy came in and started whistling the tune with her. She suddenly looked up at him and said,
"Daddy, don't impede my singing!"
Kyle and I couldn't stop laughing! Impede??? Where in the world did that word find it's way into her vocabulary? And how did she even know to use it in the right context? According to dictionary.com this is the exact definition of impede: to retard in movement or progress by means of obstacles or hindrances; obstruct; hinder. This little girl is WAY too smart for her britches. I asked her where she heard that word...Was it from a movie? Did she hear it on a TV show? Did she hear it in a book? Her simple reply,
"I just know it Mom!"

That is really funny but no surprise coming from Janelle. She is so smart. I also love that picture.
Sometimes kids surprise me! Josh's knowledge of numbers amazes me... these kids are more than ready for kindergarten!
