We Heart Grandma and Grandpa!!!!

In the next couple of days my kids are going to go through withdrawal. Why? Grandma and Grandpa Mammen came to visit us over the weekend, and we had way too much fun with them!

We made a trip to the square downtown where we visited our favorite candy/popcorn store - the Mom & Popcorn Company. We perused antique shops, made a stop at the library, ventured into Chestnut Square, and had a lovely lunch at The Pantry.

We played on the spiral staircase in front of a quaint old bookstore.

Grandpa and Grandma did LOTS of reading with the kids. Both Janelle and Spencer love to be read to and it was so nice to have someone else take a turn with them. Spencer immediately became Grandpa's little shadow. I don't know what it is with this kid and his Grandpas, but he sure loves them! Wherever Grandpa Bill was, there was Spencer right behind him! Grandma was only here one hour before Janelle ran to her room, grabbed a Junie B. Jones book and was asking Grandma to read it to her. They finished the book in 3 days!

Grandpa Bill is a major kid at heart! The kids had a fabulous time playing with him!

Janelle quickly found out that Grandma Kay makes the best banana splits!

Whenever we go to the mall, Janelle begs to go on the carousel. We've come up with the rule that the carousel is a grandparent treat. If we're at the mall with Grandmas or Grandpas, then she can ride it, but only when they're with us! Janelle was all smiles when she realized mommy finally said, "Yes" to it.

Spencer was a little leery of the horses, but safe in Grandpa's arms, he was perfectly content!

On Sunday, we made a leisurely loop around Town Lake Park to feed the ducks. Grandma and Grandpa came from LOTS of snow, so they were more than happy to spend the majority of the time outdoors!

We also went swimming and took Janelle Easter dress shopping. Grandma and Grandpa even sent Kyle and I out for the night on Saturday. So we had fun perusing stores and then picking up cheesecake to take home!

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for such a great weekend! We miss you already!!!
