Something special happened last night.

How did it happen? We were eating corn on the cob last night for dinner. Janelle (as usual) was the last one at the table eating and Kyle was doing dishes while I was getting Spencer ready for bed. All of the sudden, Janelle goes, "Daddy? What is the red part of corn?" Kyle was confused by this question until he walked over to her, saw blood all over her mouth and her tooth on her plate. Of course Janelle was a little freaked out and kept saying she didn't want her tooth to fall out. But realizing she really had no choice in the matter she eventually she calmed down and started getting excited about the tooth fairy.

This is what the tooth fairy left Janelle for her first tooth.

The Tooth Fairy also left Janelle a teeny tiny fairy-sized note that said, "Congrats Janelle on losing your first tooth! Love, the Tooth Fairy."
Now if we could just get that darn "pirate" tooth to fall out!

Yea, Janelley! I'm so proud of you for being so brave. Corn can be quite hazardous. Now just make sure and eat it with only your top, front teeth...arg. ;o)

I'm so glad you called to tell about the big event of your first tooth falling out. And the tooth fairy left a DOLLAR!! That's fun! I sure love you my big girl!!

I believe the best your dad ever got from the tooth fairy was a quarter! I guess it is a lot easier to fly with paper dollars than with a big roll of quarters. Losing a tooth is a lot more difficult than you would think and how lucky it was that the tooth ended up on the plate and not swallowed. Laura, I am sure you know which will be the very last babytooth to come out! Love Grandpa Bill

Sarah- Yes, we will be having corn every night until it falls out now. :)

Kay & Bill- I know, a dollar?!?! Darn inflation! The tooth fairy actually looked up tooth fairy rates these days. And while some kids may get $20, we're glad she just brought Janelle a dollar...we don't want her to go broke! Don't worry Bill, yes, I am preparing myself for the results in the teeth losing race. Of course that will be the last one to fall out. I just have to say that as soon as that tooth is gone we are headed to a photo studio for some major toothless picture taking. :)
