I thought nothing much had been going on lately, but then I went back and looked at the pictures I'd taken in the last week and I definitely thought wrong. We've actually been quite busy! Here's a quick overview:
We made chocolate blackberry sundaes and enjoyed every single bite of them!
(Did you know washable markers still take a day to come completely off your skin?)
My budding artist. Janelle would color all day long if I let her.
Her favorite coloring book these days is her "Hello Kitty" one and she also loves to draw pictures of princesses, herself, and her family members.
We had some friends over.
And took really cute pictures of them together!
Janelle went to her second cooking class where she made pepperoni and fruit pizza. She absolutely loves these classes and can't wait for the next one...which is weeks away, darn it!

We played with our cousin and made silly faces.
We spent a good 30 minutes playing on a box.
On Monday we partied at the sprinkler park...twice. One party in the morning, one party in the evening...both with cupcakes.
Life is rough.
Here are my munchkins tired out of their little minds by Monday night.

Janelle and I completed a 100-piece puzzle...only after Spencer went to bed and stopped throwing pieces off of the table.
We were both proud of the results!
No pictures of me, but I've kept busy training for a triathlon in a month, keeping up my Jane Austen book club reading, researching Montessori teaching methods and home school info, sitting on my bed in front of hours and hours of "Gilmore Girls," and chasing two monkeys around my house trying to keep them busy.
Not busy?
Yep, I definitely thought wrong.

Janelle did great today in cooking class... the kids sure did love pounding that dough, my table was groaning I am sure with all of that pounding! Good thing it's a good and strong 1970's table! ;)
speaking of HF (since we have been talking about it since Christmas in our house) Jeff is home the whole week of July 7-11-- are any of those days good? Either that or the 19th, which is a saturday.
You are amazing! I am so lazy compared to all you super moms! Janelle did amazing on Sunday by the way. I had a little tear. :-)
Such cute pictures! I love the one of the two girls through the blinds. Yes, you guys have been very busy, as always! You seem to always be doing such fun things with your kids. It'a great! Since you mentioned the Montessori method on your post about homeschooling, I have been researching it too. I always thought it was just a fancy name for private school. I had no idea it was a teaching method. Anyway, I love what I have been learning about it. I have already started trying to set up "the environment" in our home. I'm really excited to learn about your homeschooling experience with Janelle! (Sorry this was such a long comment.)
I know the feeling. We got busy towards the end of the school year that I was looking forward to summer break. But we're still busy as ever!
well, when you write it all down like that it sure is a lot! glad we were able to make your week even busier!
A triathlon in a month? When and were are you doing it?
Emily- That week looks great!
Kirsten- You are too nice. Note I didn't post the pictures of the kids sitting in front of the tv...which has been a must this last week. :)
Shay- Hey, we're working on a Montessori "environment" too! That's so cool that you're researching it. If you find any good ideas, send them my way!
Cindy- I know! Whatever happened to lazy summer days?
Becki- I love being busy with friends. :)
Jen- I found out about the triathlon about 2 1/2 weeks ago and thought, "Well, now's as good a time as any!" It's actually only about 7 minutes away from my house and it was on a Saturday so I couldn't pass it up. It's July 26th. I don't care much about time, I just want to say that I finished it!
