Okay, so it's a little belated. We had a fabulous 4th!
We started out the day at the ward pancake breakfast/bike parade (AKA: crazy kids riding around the church parking lot until they are hot and red in the face and can ride no more).

Spencer decided to go for a more liesurely ride. He would ride for a few seconds, then stop and pick up some candy, then ride for a few more seconds, then stop and eat some candy, the ride a little more, find more candy, etc., etc. It was a long hot lap around the church for mommy!

Janelle had been waiting for this parade for weeks, thanks to our primary who had been avidly advertising it for the last 3 weeks.

My nephew, Mark was smart, forget the bikes, he scored a ride with the Giles' on their motorcycle
Go Spencer go!
When the kids were tired of riding their own bikes, they went for a ride on Daddy's.

As if balancing a two-year-old on your handlebars isn't hard enough, let's try riding with him on your shoulders. That's not dangerous at all.

Once Spencer was tired and red in the face from his LONG ride around the church, he decided to sit in the shade and stuff his face with his loot. He quickly learned two lessons:
1. When Mommy says "No more candy," go ask her friend, Erin to open it for you. She's much nicer about things like that!
2. When Mommy decides to hide the rest of my candy, just go out in the parking lot and find some more, and THEN give it to Erin to open.

After the breakfast we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a BBQ. We got there a little early, so Kyle and Spence settled for a playstation game of...
...this.

When we could finally pull the boys away from their mesmerizing game, Kyle made cherry limemade out of fresh black cherries and limes. It was, of course, delish!
Celeste, Mark, and Spencer (especially Spencer) were mesmerized by the marble game. My mom has had this toy since we were little and it is still a hit!

We finally made it to the fireworks at 9:45pm. Spencer stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's totally conked out in their bed but Janelle was more than willing to stay up for the fireworks.

She only lasted about 3 minutes in the car, until we looked back to find her like this.

Hope everyone had a happy Independence Day!

Okay, I'm beginning to understand that kyle is quite the culinary artist. When can I sample some of his work? :-)
