Punkin Pie Patch

Today we ventured out to Flower Mound to the Great Pumpkin Patch. (Okay, that's not really what it's called, but that's basically what it is.) A good time was had by all...mostly.

I knew Janelle would have a fun time and I really thought that Spencer would love it. The whole car ride there he kept exclaiming, "Go to punkin' pie?!?! Yay!!!" I don't know where he got that name, but close enough.

He was a little clueless last year when we went, so I really thought he'd enjoy it this year being able to run around all the pumpkins. Sure enough he loved it for a total of about...oh...20 minutes. Then he just wanted us to hold him the whole time. Kids are so unpredictable. Oh yeah, I have a troublesome two-year-old. Sometimes I forget.

Oh well, the rest of us had fun!

We started our adventure here:...right smack dab in front of "Thomas." As if there isn't enough "Thomas" in our lives already, here is the one picture I got where both of them are smiling. One picture out of 91 and this is the only one with TWO happy kids. Oh well, thus is life.

While I had a hard time getting Spencer to smile, Janelle was as photogenic as ever! She kept saying, "Take a picture of me in front of this Mommy!" And then she'd pose.

I've got this one trained!

Here's about minute 8 of Spencer's happy moment.

Minute 12

Uh-oh Spencer's time is almost up!!!

Quick get some last pictures!
I don't know what it was about this little jail, but it was Spencer's favorite part of the whole day. He would have stayed in there the whole time if we'd let him.

Minute 18...19...20!

And thus begins the downfall of Spencer's happy time.
I thought Spencer would LOVE the train seeing as he is totally obsessed with "Thomas." However the train made this loud "choo-choo" sound every so often that totally freaked him out. At the end of the ride, instead of exiting the train happily like all the rest of the kids, he exited in tears crying, "No tain. Too loud."

And that was the end of good-natured Spence.
Janelle had been in a bounce house while Spencer and I were on the train so she of course wanted a turn by the time we were done. She was adamant that she wanted to go by herself without Mommy and Daddy and especially without Spencer "because he cries too much."
She got her wish. At first Spencer said he wanted to ride the train again with Daddy this time, but then freaked out when that darn whistle started blowing! So we let another happy kid take Spencer's car.

Check out all those pumpkins!
Even though Spencer was such a grouchy pants, Janelle was all smiles the whole time. She loved it!
Isn't she cute?
We finally got to cheer our little guy up on the tractor hay ride.

Then we moseyed on over to the corn maze (where Spencer took 10 steps and then flipped out - probably because he couldn't see where to go - so I had to go in and rescue my poor baby!).Then we found some more wooden characters to take a bajillion pictures with!

Ghost cowgirl sheriff.

Right before we left we let the kids pick out a couple of pumpkins to take home. They were very choosy about the few they selected and examined each very carefully!

Overall, we all had a fun time and will definitely make it back next year!

Happy 20 days until Halloween!!!

We haven't been there before. We have to go soon! You got some cute pictures. I thought he would have loved being on the train. Wonder how Hayden will do. He is also a troublesome 2 year old.

Great pictures! This year Dax smiled for all the pictures, but Jace just wanted to me to hold him. You never know with little ones.
