This last week and weekend blew by in a whirl! We have been busy, busy, busy! I had this major project due for my dad that he was adamant "had to be done by Friday." So I literally worked my rear end off last week trying to get it done. Finally on Friday I talked myself into taking the morning off to chill at the outlet mall with my mom knowing I could completely finish the project by Friday afternoon. So my mom and I spend a fun morning at the outlet mall and I get back to my parent's house by 1 expecting to put the finishing touches on the calendar I have been designing. I walk into my parent's house and see some pretty roses on the table and I think, "Oh those are pretty, I don't remember seeing them before we left." Then I walk into the living room and see 3 of our suitcases on the floor. That's when I start wondering, "What in the world is going on?" Finally Kyle walks up to me and says, "Okay, let's go! We're leaving for the night!" Immediately my mind goes into whirlwind mode, "What about my project? My parents can't keep the kids all night they've got places to go in the morning! Who's going to pick up Janelle from school and cooking class? etc., etc. Apparently my parents are in on the secret too. My dad had made a hotel reservation for us (thank you Marriott points!) and my parents had offered to keep the kids all night weeks ago AND the project "deadline" was part of the scheme as well. (Although it WAS finished Monday.) So I made a quick call to my friend, Emily to see if she could pick Janelle up (thanks Emily!), and we were off to the shops at Legacy for the night for our anniversary. I was SO surprised! I really had no clue! Thank you Kyle and Mom and Dad for the perfect surprise anniversary gift! (And thanks to Bill and Kay for paying for dinner.) :)
Unfortunately we don't have any pictures from our night on the town, but here's a picture of the 7 roses Kyle got me. One for each year we've been married. Isn't he romantic?

My brother (the one who borrowed my camera for a few weeks) also got back from working on the ranch in New Mexico this weekend and brought my "baby" back (camera)! I was SOOOO happy to see it and spent the rest of the weekend playing with it.

Then half an hour later it looked like this! Too cool.
The rest of the weekend we spent at my parent's house. My dad just got ordained to be bishop of the new Prosper ward (he was already bishop, they just released him and recalled him to be bishop over the new ward they just created). It was fun going to their ward. Janelle especially loved going to Grandma's primary class!
We also watched "The Hulk" and "Little Women," ate lots of yummy food, and played Mexican Train. It was a nice weekend! Now we can't wait to see Grandma Kay and Grandpa Bill on Wednesday! Just as we were about to leave my parent's house this morning I had this little conversation with Spencer,
"Okay Spence. It's time to go to Spencer's house now."
"Otay Mommy. We go home and see Gramma Kay now."
Silly kid. He's all about grandparent hopping. :)
