Oh the weather outside is frightful...

What happens in Texas when it's 25 degrees outside and it hails all night long?

Okay, technically it was just ice. But we didn't care!

After I got the word that school was canceled I headed back to bed and my angel children slept until 8:30!!!! It was a glorious morning!

Unfortunately Spencer had a checkup with his urologist that we couldn't miss, so we bundled up and drove like snails to the doctor's office. The drive that normally takes us 25 minutes took us an hour! Thank heavens for DVD players! After a very optimistic checkup (both kidneys look great!) and too long in the car I decided to forego naptime and let the kids play outside.

They were perfectly content for almost an hour, I couldn't believe it! I even had to bribe Spencer inside with hot chocolate and rice krispie treats!

But who wants sugar when you can eat snow?
(Excuse the pink gloves, they were the only ones that fit him!)

"Mmmmm.....ice."

"Maybe it's a little colder than I thought."

*Spitting* "I dote wike it."

Icicle goatee.

Spencer stayed out about 20 minutes longer than Janelle. Crazy kid! I didn't have the heart to make him come inside though. He was having SO much fun!

Once inside, we stripped the wet clothes down and put on warm jammies. But Spencer was very attached to his snow boots. He did not want to take them off. Funny, since last year he screamed every time I put them on him!

And Janelle was overjoyed to pull out her ski socks from last year. She had a nice time "ice skating" in the kitchen before dinner in those socks!

We finally hunkered down at the end of the day to watch "The Santa Clause."

'Twas the perfect ending to a perfect day!

Aww, what a fun day! I'm so glad we didn't get any icey stuff at all! It was cold enough without it!

Sounds like a fun day! Cute pictures. I love the picture of Spencer with an ice goatee. Shows how cold it really was yesterday.
