Poor Janelle Belle, she's had a rough week. She started out Sunday with a fever, sore throat and upset stomach (AKA: throwing up all day long). By Monday her stomach was okay, but she still had a slight fever and a sore throat. I kept her home from school thinking she'd be perfectly fine by today. This morning I get her up for school and not only does she still have a fever and sore throat, but she now has a rash that covers her whole body. Needless to say I was a little freaked out! We went to the doctor to find that she has a virus. And not only is it a virus, it's a highly contagious virus. Nothing you can do for it, but just wait it out...no drugs (except tylenol and benadryl), no school, and lots of rest. He said the earliest she could go back to school is on Thursday, but to see how she is and possibly wait until Friday. I feel so bad for her, she's so lethargic and just lays around all day shivering, itching, and asking me what her friends at school are doing. She totally misses it!
As a result of my very sick child, my house is a mess, I can't go anywhere, and I'm bored out of my mind!!! Please let Friday come quickly and cross your fingers Spencer doesn't get it!!!

I feel your pain Laura! That is EXACTLY what we have had at my house, and I feel like I have dropped off the end of the earth! Major cabin fever and friend withdrawls! Just know I am at home missing you and trying to remember what normal life looks like! :-)

Oh, you can tell how awful she feels from those pictures. Poor Janelle! I have to say I am glad it wasn't last week while we were all there! Ayden woke up today with a really weird rash all over her face and her eye was all swollen but she was acting fine. I took her to the doc and found out it is called fifths disease. The whole disease part of the name makes it sound awful but it doesn't do anything except the rash that starts on the face and then ends up on legs, arms chest etc. It doesn't itch or anything. And the funny part is that she was contagious for about a week leading up to the rash but once the rash breaks out it isn't contagious any more. Very odd. Anyway, I hope Janelle gets better soon and the rest of you can stay healthy!!

I think Tiffany's son had that same thing. Nasty. There are so many sicknesses going around right now--flu, stomach flu, Strep, viruses. Bleh. It almost makes you want to dip yourself in alcohol to totally disinfect yourself.
