March Madness

Some funny things that have happened this week...

(And none of these pictures have anything to do with what I'm journaling about, I just thought I should throw some pictures in, so this post wasn't too boring!)

On Sunday towards the end of Sacrament Meeting, Spencer was done sitting still. And I mean, DONE! While I'm distracted with Janelle and Kyle's head is turned, Spencer wriggles out of our bench and races as fast as his little legs could carry him all the way to the front of the chapel, up the stairs and was headed straight to the microphone. (Maybe he was bored, or maybe he just really wanted a turn at sharing his testimony, I don't know.) Anyway, once Kyle saw him escape, he booked it trying to catch up with him. He finally grabbed him up on the stand and quickly took him into the hall. Crazy kid!!! I didn't even realize what was going on until Spencer was up on the stand and Kyle was running up the steps, then it dawned on me, "Oh, that's my son and my husband running in the chapel!" There was definitely stifled laughter among the whole congregation during that moment.

To follow suit, during the 3rd hour of church they had the young men and young women take over primary so all the adults could go to a combined meeting. As Kyle was picking up Spencer from nursery, one of the young men points to Spencer and goes, "That kid is Cuh-RAZY!!!" (Sigh) I guess I'm destined to be the mother of the "wild child."

Last night Janelle's stupid alarm clock went off at 1:15am, but it wasn't set on a radio station, so it was just this loud static. She woke up screaming at the noise and took awhile to calm down, so this morning when she woke up I could tell she was pretty tired. I asked her if she wanted to stay home from school today and do some fun things with Mommy, and at first she said yes. So I told her to go back to bed, then I happily went back to my own bed. Two minutes later, Janelle comes into my room crying, "I think I want to go to school, because I'm the special calendar helper this week!" Silly girl. I couldn't believe she wanted to go! It's just further proof to me that she loves school. :)

(Sorry no pictures of me, I just look fat right now.)

I totally lied a few posts ago about being over the worst of being sick. Some days I was okay, but other days I couldn't even get out of bed, I was SO nauseous! At my first appointment, my doctor offered to write me a prescription for an anti-nauseous medicine. I declined it (having gone to my appointment on a non-sick day) and figured I could just wait it out. But last Friday I had had it. I'd been super sick for two days straight (not to mention the majority of the week) and I couldn't do anything. I called my doctor, she called the prescription in, and I have been one changed person ever since! Holy cow, I should have done this from the beginning. It has made a WORLD of difference! Now I'm not condoning taking drugs during pregnancy, in fact, I'm the kind of person that usually won't even take Tylenol for a headache when I'm pregnant, but this was totally the right decision for me right now. (Oh yeah, and the medication is 100% safe for the baby.) Kyle is relieved to see me somewhat back to my normal self, my kids are happier, and I'm happy I can finally get out of the house and do normal things once again. I'm even sleeping WAY better. I only have to take it when I start feeling sick, so some days I don't take it at all or just take it once, and then there are days (like yesterday) that I have to take it every 8 hours. Thank heavens for modern medicine!!!

(Look closely, that's Kyle on the front page!)

He was "hard at work" at his office creating a building out of canned foods for a food drive.Kyle took mid-terms last week and passed with flying colors, just like I knew he would! He's staying really busy between work, school, and playing SuperMan to his pregnant wife and kids. I'm not quite sure how he does it, but he does!

I didn't notice Spencer at first but I certainly couldn't miss Kyle bounding down the aisle. It was like a Special Ops mission straight out of "24".

Thanks for sharing the story about Spencer. It makes me feel normal. Jake did the same thing a couple of years ago.

I didnt even notice Spencer going up on the stand at church. And luckily you didnt fall while getting him. So dont worry about it! And you are not looking fat, you look great!

That post wouldn't have been boring even without the pictures(the pictures are fun too, though). The sacrament meeting and alarm clock stories are funny!

I almost wish Spencer had made it to the microphone. That would have been an even funnier story! Glad you are feeling better!
