Weekending

Kyle's semester is coming to a close, so we haven't seen much of him lately. This weekend he had to work on a 15-page research paper, so it was up to me to entertain the kids Friday and Saturday.

On Friday we broke out the pizza stone and put our pizza making skills to work. (Check out my favorite pizza crust recipe here.) Pepperoni and cheese for the kiddos...

...and veggie alfredo for me!! That's why I love making homemade pizza...I always get to pick whatever I want on my pizza and I don't have to settle for pepperoni!

Spencer and I had made a special trip to the store earlier in the day to pick up a bottle of root beer (a major treat at our house...saying that my kids LOVE root beer is an understatement!). So once the pizza was hot out of the oven, we pulled out the chilled root beer and veg'd in front of "Muppets Treasure Island."

I was not ready to have the kids by myself on Saturday all day long, so we called Grandma and asked if we could come swim and hang out. We had a good ol' time swimming, having lunch, watching "Bedtime Stories" with Grandma, and playing outside.

Spencer loved pushing around the garden wheelbarrow.

And Janelle rode her scooter, Hollywood style. Poor thing she also got her first fire ant bites of the summer.

We got home late in the afternoon and convinced Daddy to take a break so we could go ride bikes outside. It was a perfectly busy day!

Kyle got the majority of his paper done and I had successfully worn the kids out for an early bedtime! Missions accomplished!

P.S. Craving some peanut butter cookies? Try these!!! They're sinfully delish!

I loved Bedtime Stories - Adam Sandler was surprisingly cute in it. I usually tire of him in the opening scenes of his movies..

Sounds fun!! We spent Saturday at Grandma's too because Shane was gone all day for youth conference! Made the day much better!

That pizza does look good. Any special recipe for the alfredo pizza?

Crystal- Ha ha! Nope, that's my secret...it's the jar stuff. :) I like the Bertolli's brand.

Okay, I just realized you said alfredo PIZZA and not just alfredo....I just top the crust with the sauce, sprinkle cheese on top (Mozzarella & Parmesan) then top it with sauteed veggies. My favorites are zucchini, onion, peppers and mushroom. Then I sprinkle a little more cheese on top (because you can never have enough cheese!). Oh yeah, and I like to sprinkle a little italian seasoning on top. Sooooooooo yummy!
