Spencer has decided that he's done with the high chair. It's amusing, really. He doesn't like to eat unless he's sitting by "Gigi" (Janelle) at the table. How did he get so big so fast? He thinks he can do everything that Janelle can. He loves his big sister, it's so cute! Whenever he gets up before she does in the morning, he walks into her room (after we open the door for him), climbs up on her bed, gets right in her face, and says, "Hi Bubba!" in a very high-pitched voice. It's so funny! We call him "Bubba" all the time and whenever Janelle greets him after he's taken a nap or she comes home from preschool, she always greets him with an affectionate, "Hi Bubba!" So I think he thinks that "Hi Bubba" is a greeting. He's such a funny kid!

We finally put all bottles away about a month and a half ago too, yea! I know, why was a 15-month-old still drinking bottles? Because his mommy wasn't ready to deal with that transition yet. He'd only been drinking out of a bottle in the morning when he woke up, so finally I decided to just put them away. Fortunately he didn't even seem to notice much of a difference once they were gone.

Cheers! Spencer's favorite item to steal out of the pantry - the syrup bottle. We usually keep it up high, but this morning it was on the kitchen table which is easily accessible to him now that he climbs on
everything. He calls syrup, "waffuhz" (waffles).
So now that Spencer is adamant about sitting at the table with us, it's imperative that we get a new table. Every time he climbs up on one of those folding chairs, my heart stops and all I can do is hope that it won't collapse on him. We can't put a booster seat on our chairs, so it's a little hard for him to eat. The good news is that we found two tables at World Market that are perfect for our kitchen. And amazingly they're not too badly priced. But I need your help. One is black and the other is a dark chocolate brown. Originally I wanted a black table, but I'm beginning to realize that scratches and dents tend to be more obvious in black tables than stained tables. The other table is pretty dark too, it almost looks black from far away, but I think it might do better with damage control. But on the other hand, the black table and chairs are 30% off. At the same time, though, if I'm spending money on a table, I want to get one that will last awhile. So what do you think?

Black or brown???
