It was 9:40pm on a rainy Friday night - an hour when most good little girls and boys are lost in dreams of sugar plum fairies and Never Never Land...
...However, my munchkins abruptly awoke at the crashing sound of thunder...So to ease their fears, we made chocolate chip cookies.
(Here's Janelle giving her approval on the cookie dough.)

Cute post Laura, I loved it. I knew that there were going to be storms last night, so I preped the kids before bed about the thunder. They both slept through it all, but it looks like your place was where it's at. When our dish went out because of the rain and thunder, we just went to bed. How boring. Party at the Mammens!
Can I come over next time there is thunder?? :-)
Wow, Princess! You're a nice mom. I know at our house Nathan would have just sent he kids back to bed. Maybe if they were desperate they could have come out and snoozed on the couch but definitely no cookies.
Cookies, especially chocolate chip, are a good answer to most of life's troubles I have found. What a nice mommy!
I think Janelle and Spencer are going to love thunderstorms from now on. Looks like fun!
Man, cookies at 10pm?! What a great mom you are - I would have just hugged them and said, go back to bed you'll be fine! I agree with everyone else, next storm we're heading over for cookies - wait that would take 4 hours!
OMGSH!that is SOoo cute! i remember when i used to go into mom and dads room and go, "i cant SLEEP!" and they'd always hate it when i come in and say that but looking back its soo funny. Buh Bi!
