A KYLE POST
Hey everybody, I know I don't post very much, but then again neither do any of your husbands so I don't feel bad about it.
The first bit of news is that there is a new comic strip out that has finally cheered me up again. I never fully recovered from Calvin and Hobbes going into retirement, and for those of you who haven't heard, Foxtrot stopped printing dailies in January, which means that I only get a new strip on Sundays.
The new strip is called "Retail" and it follows the lives of retail employees who work for a department store called Grumbles. If, like me, you have a retail or customer service job, or if you have ever had one of the those kinds of jobs, this strip helps keep the daily frustrations of those types of jobs in perspective. Also, it helps you appreciate the fact that you are not alone in wondering if the world feels it needs to treat you like a doormat because you run a cash register.

Enjoy!!

The reason I mention this now is because this week is actually an important one in terms of the Presidential Election. For those of you who don't know, the first quarter fund raising ends this Saturday and when the reports come out next month whoever is ahead gets the most media attention. So, since I know most of you who read this are as broke as we are, if your parents, grandparents, rich uncle etc. are looking to donate to the Romney campaign, you ought to give them a reminder that this is the week to do so.

Well, Kyle, you know that when you throw some political bait into the water, you're always going to get a bite from a Platt. I've been stewing over the prospects for the upcoming election this week and so I was interested in your post. But tell me, besides his being LDS (and faithful to his wife...a big plus), how does Mitt Romney differ from the other candidates? The conservative pundits are calling the Republican line-up "Rudy McRomney", which I think is perfect. I think they're all the same and are even, in fact, not too different from their Democrat counterparts.
I worry about Romney because he has flip-flopped on some of the key moral issues. When he ran against Ted Kennedy he ran a pro-choice campaing and wrote letters to homosexual Republican groups arguing that he would do more for their cause than Kennedy. What do you make of that? Was he really pro-choice and pro-gay rights or did he just think he needed say he was to get elected?
Kyle, that comicc was........ Interesting. THats all i have to say but thats only because im a kid. Ciao!
