We had a very happy 4th! We started the day out at our ward breakfast which of course included the kids' "bike race" (as Janelle called it) - really it was a bike parade. Janelle decorated her new bike with flags and red and white crepe paper and was excited to ride around the church with all the other kids. Daddy followed her around the church probably 4-5 times making sure she didn't fall over. (She's still trying to get the hang of the new bike, it's a little different than riding her tricycle.) Spencer and I just hung out talking with our friends watching Janelle and Daddy go by.

You can't really see, but Janelle is holding up her little medal necklace, she got the "Patriotic Princess" award. Are we surprised?
Nope!

Spencer's little friend Hayden was so nice to share his car with Spencer. Spencer thought it was hilarious when Hayden started pushing him!

After the breakfast we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house for some Independence Day and Birthday celebrations. Kyle had fun making a potion of yummy strawberry limeade (we're trying to get in the spirit of "Harry Potter")!

In addition to our patriotic celebrations we also celebrated Spencer's birthday with the rest of the fam. Spencer LOVED being sung to by everyone.

We didn't make it out to any fireworks this year. Most of them ended up being canceled anyway. Both kids got up extremely early and Spencer didn't take very good naps, so as an alternative Daddy bought some firework poppers (real fireworks were prohibited EVERYWHERE, so we couldn't even pull out the sparklers!). Spencer thought they were hilarious every time Kyle popped one!

Spencer loves kitties. In fact, "kitty" is one of the few words he can say. He is always so excited to go to my parents' house and see the cats. Fortunately Princess (the cat in this picture) is really good with him. She didn't even mind too much when he pulled her tail.

Sparklers are only outlawed in Collin county, there is a bunch of fireworks vendors just outside the county line. We were lucky enough to get to burn some in Hallsville. Poppers are a good second choice though! Last night at about 10 o' clock, our across the street neighbors had a huge fireworks show going on in their backyard. I watched from the window. (I was also looking for the cops...)
Looks like you had a good time, congrats to Janelle for her award!
Your parents have a cat named Princess? That's kind of funny, considering your fiddy fiver nickname.
It looks like you guys had a great 4th. Fun pictures!
