One Fine Day

Yesterday we had Daddy home for the WHOLE DAY. It was a major treat. In the morning we went on a family walk/bike ride. Then we all did yard work together. And after nap time we hit the:

Trade Days is basically a huge flea market with vendors from all over that come and sell anything from puppies to antiques to rugs to candles to cute girly dress-ups. It happens the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the third weekend of the month. We've lived in McKinney almost 4 years and have never been even though it's only about 6 minutes from our house. So Saturday was the day. We packed ice water, the stroller, and treats to keep Spencer entertained. We got there the last hour they were open, but it was just enough time for us to have fun, hit most of the vendor streets, grab a few treats, and be back in the car before Spencer had a meltdown. What a fun family outing it turned out to be! We scored snowcones...
...that caused this little girl's mouth to turn a nice shade of blue.

Janelley Belle found the ponies and couldn't have been happier sitting there on top of "Snowy." She didn't even care how amazingly SLOW they were going. We've really got to get this girl out to Arizona.

Each of us came home with a little treasure, because what's a flea market without some good finds? Spencer scored a dum-dum from the diaper bag stash and keeping with the blue-tongued spirit, he chose blue raspberry.

Janelle got to pick out her very own 25 cent pencil - a must for preschool on Tuesday. (Notice the blue teeth.)

I've had my eye out for a bronze Texas star to hang on our porch for sometime now. This one was not ridiculously priced like all the other ones I'd seen in stores, so I splurged and it came home with us.

Kyle surprised me with a new hobby that he swears he told me about a long time ago but I can't seem to remember him telling me about. He'd been looking for a book to collect the presidential silver dollars. Apparently he already had three at home that he'd been saving. Surprise, we found a book to house those silver dollars. Who woulda thought?

One last quick stop to try out some salsa samples (ridiculously priced at $6 a jar) and we were back on the road.

Now it's Sunday night and it's back to the grind for the next 5 days. At least we had one fine day all together!

Fun! I love Trade Days. I actually tried to convince John to go on Saturday too, but we ended up at Ray Roberts Lake instead. Not a bad trade. It's the time together that counts, right? Glad you got to spend a fun day with the family!

Shay- Yeah, it was especially nice having Kyle home during bedtime. I'm sure you know best of all, but it sure is nice having two parents home during that time of day!

Brianne- Oh I love Lake Ray Roberts! Did you take a boat out or play on the beach?

Melissa- Thanks! I was so happy when I finally found one!

Jen- Oh yeah, I do remember Kristen mentioning that she'd gotten that recipe from you. I'm going to have to properly credit you!!! (Hope you don't mind I shared it!)

Emily- You totally have to go. It's so fun! (And definitely before it's insanely hot.)
