We started our summer out with a bang...and a little bit early! The weekend before Janelle's last week, we packed the bikes up and headed to Erwin Park. Janelle and Kyle biked while I walked a loop with Spencer (I don't have a bike, nor do we have a bike trailer). We all had a really good time, and Janelle is definitely quite a pro on her bike now.
Spencer was a little disappointed we didn't bring his bike, but he found plenty of other treasures to entertain him on our little hike/walk. He was fascinated by all the cool sticks he found! This one he told me was a "magical wand."
We took a little break towards the end to throw rocks and sticks in the lake.
I know this picture is a little blurry, but I love it because it shows the pure joy he found in being outside with all the rocks and sticks and getting nice and dirty!
By 11:00 that day we were all nice and sweaty and hot, so we made a quick visit to Grandma's house for some ice cream cones and a dip in the pool. I absolutely LOVE this picture! (Yes, it's supposed to blurry in the background.)
Fast forward 5 days...Janelle (and I) were both dragging the last four days of school, it was getting harder and harder for either of us to get out of bed. So when Friday came (Janelle's first day of summer break) we were ready to party!
We spent the morning at the gym so I could go to a water aerobics class, which was so fun! Then we spent the rest of the day at Grandma's house swimming, playing outside and eating popsicles with our cousins.
With no nap and nothing but playing all day, Spencer totally conked out on the drive home - sunglasses and all.
Yea for summer!

How fun. Popsicles make everything better.
